1/13/21 – “Liam Hemsworth” Anagram Word (5 or more letters, can’t be handwritten or on/in something portable)

    It’s Thor’s brother Liam Hemsworth’s birthday on 1/13.

This one’s complicated, but easier than you think. Read below:

    1. Find a word using “Liam Hemsworth” as the base for an anagram, then take a picture of the word out there in the wild. It can’t be handwritten OR in/on something portable (book, magazine, energy bar wrapper, etc). Street signs, outdoor ads, or descriptions on plaques are examples of acceptable entries.
    2. Don’t know what an anagram is? Basically, jumble all the letters in his name and pull out words using just those letters. For example, one word I can pull out after jumbling the letters is “mail” (it’s just 4 letters, so it doesn’t count in this hunt). Now I just ride around and take a picture of the word “mail” on a sign, a post office, etc. I don’t want the visual representation of that word (like a mailbox or an envelope), I want the actual word to be shown in that photo
    3. For this hunt, the word has to be 5 letters or more.
    4. The first person to post a picture of the longest word by the end of the day on 1/13 will get 5 extra bonus points. If the post is edited, that will be the time I am considering it posted.
    5. Remember, just post 1 pic/day (plus follow all the rest of the rules of the game)

    Happy hunting!

I found a Pet Memorial in Clinton, MD. Wished that I had known about it when my dog died 6 years ago.

I was hoping to find “immortals” in a cemetery, but that was a dead end. So I setted for this, although it would have been more fitting [ahem] if it was an Australian shop.

Best I could find after a search online was a place in NC. And the bottom portion of the photo is the same picture that they have on their Facebook page.

    1/13/21 – Liam Hemsworth anagram = Tailors
This was a wild 13-mile chase for not much in the way of results. I started with the idea that I would go to Modern Memorials. But then I saw everyone else was doing memorials, and wanted to do something different. So I set out to find mealworms. The Wild Bird Center in Bethesda was showing as having them. I figured maybe there would be a sign on the outside of the store. Even if there wasn’t, surely there would be a sign on the display.

I got there (over a trail so steep it required switchbacks). They had mealworms. But there was no sign on the outside of the store, or even on the display. And the actual packages of mealworms would have violated the rules.

Never mind, I’ve still got Modern Memorials. So I go to the address shown for that. The lobby directory has no sign for them. So I go up to the fifth floor, which is where Google maps said they were. There is no sign on the door. Someone from another business comes out into the hall, and I ask her about it. She tells me they moved out in June.

Okay, next idea, “loteria.” There is a nearby store selling lottery tickets. Surely in inclusive Montgomery County, there will be at least one sign in Spanish, right? Nope. About 100 signs for the lottery, none of them in Spanish.

At this point, I’m taking a picture of the Whole Food store. Whole will (just barely) work. But after such high aspirations, I’m reluctant to settle for just the minimum number of letters.

Then I realize there is a nearby tailor. I take a picture of that sign.

And then I realize that there is a store with tailors, not just tailor, that is just a small detour on my way home. So I give you…

They are a construction company. I suspect they work in a lot of areas. Her ride was in Arlington Heights.

I’m very disappointed that no one used “sh*thole” as their Liam Hemsworth anagram. Porta-potties are everywhere waiting to be photographed, and one could even argue that right now any picture taken in the United States qualifies.
