Good fortune smiled on me, as I found a leprechaun, next to a shamrock (aka clover) on Thayer Avenue in Alexandria. The owner of the home told me his next display will include the Easter bunny.

I was out riding with friends this morning thinking I would need to go out later in the day to hunt down a Rainbow, Leprechaun, or Four Leaf Clover. Our ride did not include neighborhoods or business districts, which is where I thought I would have the best chance of finding something. As we were riding past the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton I caught this mural out of the corner of my eye. I just had to stop, turn around and take a picture. I’ve seen this mural dozens of times, just never noticed the rainbows in the mural.

I went to an Irish pub first, but I didn’t see any relevant decorations from a respectable distance, nor did I want to brave the throngs standing closer to it. I meandered around, quickly ending up in the Gayborhood where there were plenty of rainbows. I continued to aimlessly look around, and I had a serendipitous moment — I found a temporary (it looked to be paper of some sort) mural with some people riding rainbows on skateboards.

3/17 Leprechauns

Leprechauns are sly, magical creatures. Here is one disguised as a goose. He didn’t see me take his photo because I was wearing my green FS buff!
