    3/3/21 – Train

On March 3, 1938, the Mallard steam locomotive was built. Exactly 4 months later, it set the world speed record of 126mph.

On your ride, capture a train and post your one photo here on the forum.

    Happy hunting!

Just curious. Will train tracks or RR Xing signs count? Does is have to be a series of RR cars? Will a locomotive be enough? Or what about a Caboose? What about going to a bike shop and taking a picture of a drive train? What about a picture of a person thinking (train of thought)? What about riding by a college and seeing a person that is being trained in an education?

Sorry, I don’t usually worry much about these, but this looks very vague. Your link to “train” could pretty much be anything you wanted it to be. Two cars on the street could also count. That tree has trained its limbs on the sun. Etc.

And, by the way. There is no mention of a likeness of a train, so technically many of the pictures don’t qualify.

As I was finishing up my ride I passed someone who I spotted wearing the telltale green reflectors (LisaE, I think, based on Strava Flyby) – I shouted out “Hi Freezing Saddles!” as I went by, but I demonstrated my usual lack of social graces and didn’t slow down to chat with them.

LOL. I thought I heard something as someone sped past me. A belated “hi!”

Need some LSAT books? This particular free library often has text books and books in foreign languages.

In 2009, President Obama proclaimed March 2 as Read Across America Day.

In celebration of the day, snap a picture of one of those happy little boxes of knowledge and intrigue known as a Little Free Library, and post it here on the forum. For this hunt, make sure your bike is also in the picture.

    Happy hunting!

P.S. – for those playing OUTSIDE of the U.S. that don’t have good access to a Little Free Library, take a pic of a cool looking library, but make sure that you have your bike in the pic :)

I visited one of about eight LFLs within 2 miles of my house. I ended up visiting #55455 on Langbrook Road in Springfield, VA and was treated to a delightful view of not only a Library, but apparently an entire lending playspace with what appears to be a gnome city! Adorable and totally made my day. #readacrossamericaa6215ce7b2e24529d8c40c1317383118.jpg

Nadine, it is #47400, in the Hallcrest Heights townhouse community on Eldorado Street off Great Falls Street in McLean, VA.

That is an awesome little free library set up!
Technically, that would not count as a “train” per the link we were given. That’s why I tried to get a clarification of what was going to be allowed.
