2/25/21 – Duck (likeness of animal or the word)

On February 25, 1970, “Rubber Duckie” premiered on Sesame Street when Ernie sang the song while taking a bath. Fun fact:
“The segment was so popular that the song was issued as a single with the show’s theme song as the flip side. In September, it peaked at #16 on the Hot 100, and on November 16, it once again appeared on Sesame Street, this time in a Season 2 segment again with Ernie performing the song.”

On your ride, capture a likeness of a duck, whether it be an actual duck, an image, or made of rubber. Caveat is that it can’t be your own duck.

    Happy hunting!

I really wish these “critter” quests would involve live animals!

    2/25/21 – Charles and Diana

I was going to post my enchiladas, but just noticed how much attention the word has already gathered today.
Instead, I’ll share “CHAIN” Bridge….a lovely cycling gateway that didn’t get any love today.

2/24/21 – Charles and diana Subanagram

I went to Bikenetic today and asked if I could take a picture of a CHAIN – in a labeled package. They’re very supportive of nuts. So Brian brought me a coupla packages to take a picture of. I saw Robyne there too! [emoji3]

And if I had only photographed those ducks I saw too, I’d sneak that in ;)

Prince Charles and Lady Diana announced their engagement to the world on 2/24/81. Infuriating fact: after getting engaged to Charles, Diana was shamed into selling her bicycle because it “wasn’t very regal to be riding around London” 😡

On your ride, find a subanagram word (not the object) using just the letters “Charles and Diana”. Take a snapshot, and post your one pic here in the forum.

    Happy hunting!

I always thought of a “Hacienda” as a large home or an estate. I never realized it was also a tax authority. Thanks for the lesson of the day!!

That’s a difference between Spanish from Spain and Spanish from South America…they do consider hacienda a ranch or large farm.

That’s a “word” you don’t see every day. lol, unless you live near this restaurant.
Did you just happen to find it, or was it planned?

I was looking for “enchiladas”, but the menu was inside. Then looked for “Cardinal” Bank, but the name was changed. Finally, while looking for “cards”, I spotted ESAAN Northeastern Thai and had to go through the letters to make sure it was a subanagram.
We have eaten there in the past, but interestingly, it is 3 stores away from another Thai restaurant, Pasa Thai, which we really like.

I think this is my first time having the earliest submission for the day! Here’s Duck Girl, by Paul Manship.

No idea what she’s doing in the middle of an empty fountain, in the center of Rittenhouse Square, carrying a duck.

2/25/2021 — duck. The park in front of the Parc Meridian at Eisenhower Station has a bunch of animal sculptures situated around a stormwater retention pond, including a giant metal dragonfly, butterfly, turtle, and this flock of ducks.
