I went for the planet Earth. This earth is located just off of Bartholomew Street in Alexandria.

I was hoping to find someone that still owned a Saturn, but no luck. So…get ready for this!!
Here is my likeness of Mars (which is roundish and reddish). This even references four features from Mars!!
And the fact that we just had a recent Mars landing, makes this even better!Southern Highlands

After yesterday’s car kerfluffle I thought it would be fun to satisfy today’s challenge with a car, but alas the two planetary car brands, Saturn and Mercury, are long defunct and it’s hard to find examples of them in the wild anymore. On a nicer day I might have searched further, but instead I headed for Plan(et) B, this salon just off of Route 7 in Falls Church. I stopped and snapped the photo but did not avail myself of any beauty services.
Along the way I did spot not one but two Pontiacs. The Pontiac brand, which was my father’s favorite, has been defunct for about as long as Saturn and Mercury.

Sorry I keep waffling. Pick a specific planet OR use “planet”. It’s all good for 1 point.
Earth, but not dirt. 1 point

Nice music and photos, but I’m pretty sure your find has to involve a bike ride.
LOL. Just having a bit of fun.

Participant2/19/21 – Planets Day
Found a few planet references rolling around today (roads much better early afternoon than they were Thur or this morning).
The pic that gets the nod here was spotted at the end of my ride….a playground had this gem!All 9 planets in the solar system (assuming they still count Pluto since there are 9 orbs)
I like the artistic representation. Although after Saturn & Jupiter, I think they all look like Earth

Hard to choose which one today! I saw Earth on a “climate victory garden” sign. I passed the deep sea solar system* mural on the MBT. Newton Street might work, in reference to Isaac Newton’s work on planetary motion. But in honor of Perseverance, I snagged Mars outside the Air and Space museum.

* Fun fact – we have more detailed maps of the surface of Mars than of Earth’s deep ocean.Note to LisaE – I appreciate your Holstian contribution! Jupiter Bringer of Jollity is my favorite one to play. – clarinetist

I finally let my Saturn go last summer after 23 years, but I saw this one just a few days ago, and remembered roughly where it was.Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Rather than just go with my first choice (that David already used) – also on the MBT underneath the Franklin St. Bridge is a mural featuring Earth. A little bit of graffiti as well, unfortunately.

I’ve been riding around campus a lot recently in College Park and noticed that a lot of the sororities and fraternities had banners up for bid week. Hoping that one had an astronomy theme… there was one! I told the sisters that it would be the prettiest and most unique submission.

I’ve been noticing playgrounds a whole lot more with this daily quest and they’ve really changed since my kids were little! Some of them are works of art in themselves. Nice find!

So, this is a likeness story about Saturn. The muralist in conversation with a fiber artist mused on what would be to embroider the planets throughout the universe. They began to argue so only Saturn made it to the mural. Because I included my bike, it’s teeny weeny. Search with wild abandon.
