2/17/2021 Bird feeder/bath/house

I didn’t expect to see any birds on my night time hunt. I did find a bird bath, though.

I can’t tell if it’s just in the UK, but February 14-21 is National Nest Box Week, but I’ve also seen it listed as Homes for Birds Week. Fun fact: George Lucas’ (creator of Star Wars) wife commissioned a bird house, which was a 7′ wide reproduction of their Skywalker Ranch residence.

Found this Bird House at Downs Park overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. I waited around for a bird or two but they never showed.

2/17/21–Bird Boxes

These Bird Boxes along Sligo Creek Trail near Kemp Mill are for Eastern Bluebird nesting. The Canadian Geese are guarding them quite well

2/17/21 – bird house, feeder, or bath, preferably with bird

I found lotsa bird houses and feeders and even a coupla birdbaths – which I’d never noticed before. One of the birdbaths is at the house of my favorite KingGinko! (How could I have missed it all these years? I bet that’s really the point of this game….)

I was relieved to see Josh say he musta gone out too late to get birds at the bird feeders because they wouldn’t land on them for me either (4-5pm.) They were right nearby – they were loud! But they were up singing in the trees, not the least bit interested in a snack. So [emoji1744]

I got my husband to help me choose a pic. He liked this one best.

2/17/21 find Birdhouse or Birdbath, I did one better and found a Bird Apartment House. If you look at the picture, you’ll see that there are at least three birdhouses inside the outer house. (Doesn’t that deserves extra points)![ATTACH=CONFIG]24179[/ATTACH]

2/18/21 – Full Electric Car (Hybrids OK!)

EDIT: Hybrids like the Prius are OK for today’s hunt.

On National Battery Day, which is February 18, take a picture of a fully electric or hybrid car.

I know this could go all over the place, so a few rules:

1. It CAN be a hybrid (which rely on both battery and gas), e.g., the Toyota Prius, Ford Fusion. Hybrid cars often have the word around the model name
2. It has to be a car that people can ride in on a highway, so no little radio control (RC) cars or golf carts
3. It can’t be at a dealership
4. It can’t be your own

Point scoring for this hunt:

• 1 point for any partially electric/partially gas hybrid cars like the Toyota Prius, or
• 1.5 points for a Tesla (since they are so popular in our area), or
• 2 points for any fully electric car that isn’t a Tesla
• An extra two points if this hybrid/electric car has a bike rack on it (must be clearly visible in the pic)

For example, this Tesla with a bike rack would garner you 3 points (1 for car, +2 for bike rack), and a bunch of salivating bike nerds.

You got it! I live with my kefir grains, you conger up bacon goodness for the birds. Best riding partner, as evidenced by chasing you back to the car. PR on W&OD, that rarely ever happens when you ride the heck out of the trail.

Point of clarification, we must have the car in the picture. I’ve the charging light and “trust me there is a Tesla in the garage” but that will not get me a point.
