2/15/21 – Human Skeleton. I was on a mission to find a skeleton, but all the ones in my neighborhood that had been up for Halloween, and a few for Christmas, had been put away. Then I started looking for chiropractors or physical therapist offices, hoping I’d find a skeleton as part of their luck, but no luck – only parts (usually spines). I was about to give up I came across a Little Library that I have never visited before. As luck would have it, there was a kid’s book on human anatomy. YAY!!!!!!

My park of the day was Olney Manor “SKATE” park. I had no idea this place would come in so handy! Some people were skating, but I didn’t need to get an action shot today.

LOVE IT! There was a house in my neighborhood that had a giant skeleton for Halloween, and then they put a Santa hat on it for Christmas. I was hoping they would continue with the themed holiday adornments, but alas, no luck. Where is this one located?

Okay, I admit it, I got a little desperate on this one. The only skeletons I know about anywhere close to Bethesda are in the National Museum of Health and Medicine in Silver Spring, and it’s closed due to the pandemic. But I found someone on NextDoor selling a top with skeletons on it. It seemed rude just to ask to come take a picture of it, and it wasn’t that expensive, so I ended up biking out to the Twinbrook Library and buying it.

On what may or may not be a related topic, anyone want a women’s size medium scrubs top with skeletons on it? Free to good (or bad, for that matter) home.

“Kettler” is a subanagram, so I headed over to the Kettler Iceplex in Ballston.
But “D’oh!” it’s been appropriated by Medstar. It’s now the Medstar Capitals Iceplex. All the signs and branding have been changed.

Lots of pictures of popes, JFK, and otolaryngeal diagrams, but no skeletons in the part of Medstar Georgetown University Hospital I visited today. Also failed to see one in the wild, but did pass Oyster Bilingual School in NW.

I missed my 10th grade biology classroom on today’s quest. My teacher had a skeleton we called “flaco.” (She also had a fish we called “Notoque” because that’s what the sign on the fish tank said. For non Spanish speakers, “No toque” means “don’t touch.” “Flaco” means “skinny.”)

In the absence of Flaco I found a subanagram on my ride today – SOLAR.
