I knew that a ride along Four Mile Run and the MVT would yield lots of opportunities for bird photos. Indeed it did – I wish I could show you all of them, but y’know, contest rule 9. Anyway, this photo from the Gravely Point parking lot is my favorite. I think this guy has a trip to the car wash in his future.

Hawk along the ART. @rumipumi would expect me to look for something cool, but I decided against going all the way to Anacostia Park to look for turkeys.

That it is a vehicle from Maryland is somewhat fitting.

Bald Eagle on Rosalie Island
In March 2001, Bald Eagle Sanctuary was established on Rosalie Island to protect a nesting pair of eagles. During construction of the new outer loop span on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, eagles became project mascots.

You said use your imagination! These are two of my favorite birds, located on 2nd St S. near Thomas Jefferson Community Center in Arlington, VA.

ParticipantYour patience and perseverance are remarkable! Thanks for this fun game. It really appeals to me and may be the only one I play. It’s also the first one I’ve played.

Participant1/5/21 – Birds
Every time I stopped to try to capture a real bird in the wild, including the crow that was chowing down on something in a neighbor’s yard, they would eye me suspiciously and fly away. But I did capture several ‘other’ birds along the way. Since we are limited to one, here’s a holiday-spirited pink flamingo.
