2/11/21 – Movie Poster
Angelika Film Center (Fairfax, VA) is a great venue for independent and specialty films. Unfortunately it was closed today for a private event. Like DCAKen, I tried getting a picture through windows, but it was too dark inside. Then Boomer2U cycles up looking for the daily photo scavenger picture, too. Boomer found a worker, kindly described what we were doing and asked if we could be allowed inside, with our bicycles, to get a picture. Some what reluctantly, the worker said yes. Score.
Hahaha I needed BOOMER! I can just see him talking to the worker. I’m picturing him doing it on Spanish. But he can do Puerto Rican smooth in English too. Just perfect. Nice one!

Many of the movie theaters in DC are boarded up or have their movie posters removed but there are some inside the little Sun Cinema in Mt Pleasant. A bit hard to see but those are posters of Godzilla on the wall.

….or lack thereof
I went to the state theater. I was reminded when I got there & saw the posters that it’s really a music venue. [emoji2358] So I biked to Ballston regal cinemas – but their posters are probably all inside and upstairs. I thought they might have something outside. Uh yeah, Nadine – maybe when they open.
I wasn’t gonna go to court house at that point. I hadda get home and finish making the pizza I got inspired to make a coupla days ago on PIZZA DAY! I forgot to take a pic of me eating a slice for Josh [emoji16] I’ll do that tomorrow – there’s enough for 3 dinners.
Here’s one of the posters I got at the state theater, for your viewing entertainment [emoji16]
It’s different, anyhow. Wish I’d thought of the Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse – great place.
I’m another one for breaking away. But now I really wanna see the movie Cbganimal talked about.

In 2021, the Chinese Zodiac sign is the Ox, and it begins on February 12.
On your ride, find the likeness of an ox (or any bovine) or the letter combo “ox” out in the wild. If you are seeking the letters “ox”, they just have to be beside each other in that order, but they can be within another word.
Happy hunting!

Today’s weather forecast for snow ended up being a bust, but I didn’t plan on much riding today. Luckily, I had time for a grocery run, so I tacked on a ride to Courthouse cinemas. I found a movie poster, albeit only a single one in the whole area.
Tonight, I, unsuccessfully, tried to find a poster outside around Ballston. A big bust, until on the way I remembered seeing one on a wall inside a house recently when walking my dog….so I snagged a pic of that through some barely cracked blindsFor the purposes of sharing, you get the Wonder Woman poster from Courthouse.
As for bike movies, I enjoyed reading everyone’s suggestions.
As an IU grad, I should say Breaking Away. I’m surprised I didn’t see any mentions of the recent sarcastic parody movie, Tour de Pharmacy

The king of Spanish Bovines! It is the Mascot for Osborne Whiskey,
but when Spain decided that advertisements for liquor along the highway were not such a good idea…Osborne took off their label. But the Bull was so well known to Spanish vistas many of them have been turned into parks or off highway rest stops!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m not sure why I felt like I should be in this photo, but the heart wants what it wants. Found a rock, moved it, spent too long aiming/balancing my phone, triggered the timer, and hustled up the icy/snowy steps to the bull.

This ox is ready to do some work with his plow, although I think the ground may be a little frozen still…

On my way to Alexandria’s fort WBTWD, I spied a bovine on the side of the Junction Bakery at 1508 Mount Vernon Avenue. Good pastries and sandwiches. They have outdoor dining spaces.
