I finally caught up on this thread and signed up yesterday. I guess I can’t retroactively log my rides for the first half of the month.

I keep forgetting to log rides, then just logging them retroactively, putting the dates in the notes. It’s just annoying because you can only log 4 / day.

    Hope that’s ok…

No cheating now. ;) I had forgotten about this Challenge until July 2nd, so I did the same for my July 1st rides. Since then I have tried to make a point of logging in by midnight to get the day’s rides logged.

We work in an efficient office, toiling away, trying to come up with the next big thing to get more people out biking and make the roads safer for cyclists.

Putting sprinklers on the trails would certainly help…

Or, how about Arlington County banning the use of cars one day a week….

Free ice cream for all cyclists!

Heck, I’d move to Arlington for that! :D

Just logged my morning trip and we were at 9508. Less than 500 trips to go!

Either everyone took the morning off, or they just quit logging their trips, but it looks like we’ll cross the threshold in the next half hour or so. 9976 right now.

Crappy weather is killing my biking this week.

It’s interesting to see how the other localities did…I mean, LA County, which has 10 million people, couldn’t get over the bar in 30 days, but DC, with 5 million (generously including a lot of the ‘burbs) did it in just over two weeks. Honestly, I think that says more about WABA/BikeArlington/FABB and our other advocacy groups than anything. They really do a fantastic job!

We should have a happy hour to celebrate – TdF replay starts at 5pm on Sunday. We could do something like Ireland’s Four Courts…

We’ll probably get both Kansas City and LA to 10,000 too. (As posted earlier in the thread, all of our trips over 10,000 will now go toward helping those cities to reach the 10,000 mark.)

Be nice to L.A. They were busy making movies and (smugly) buying the latest high-end electric cars.

The revised goal is 14,519 to make up for the Kansas City and Los Angeles shortfalls. We’re close to 11,700 today. If we stay on pace with last week, we should blow past 14,519 by this weekend.

Judging by the low numbers posted this morning, that might be a tall order.
