ParticipantI am so totally in. July is going to be a low mileage month due to more running and swimming, so I’m loving the “trips” aspect of this. I’m always on my bike heading back and forth from the grocery store, library, swimming pool…in fact I may start riding CaBi to head someplace else and then get my run in by running home.

ParticipantFour trips today. One of these days I’m going to find one of these contests that gives you extra credit when half your trips are pulling a trailer containing a child or two.

ParticipantWhat is it about these “log your ride” websites? They’re terrible. Clearly their web developers don’t bike.

This one is easy. Put in your mileage and click the “Log Miles” button. Job done. If you have a second trip, enter it. If not, come back when you do. There are other things you can do, but they’re not required to log trips.
This year is easier and takes less time than last. It benefits more charities than last year’s. It is a little less fun for riders who are into the challenge though. It makes it MUCH easier for people who are more casual about taking the challenge. It is much more inclusive.

ParticipantWhy isn’t that log miles button prominently displayed on the front page?

ParticipantTrying to keep track of all these different websites for logging miles and doing challenges is really becoming cumbersome.
The difference between this challenge and all the others I’m taking part in is that this one will directly benefit, in a tangible way, the local cycling community. It’s not just a KOM to brag about. I’m in, at the expense of some other bang-my-own-drum stuff
Hope it helps, and thanks for bringing this to our attention. Is there some way we can get the word out more? Make it a sticky or announcement at the top? Is this also being heavily blogged about in the regional blogosphere?

ParticipantI didn’t mean to imply that I wasn’t logging my trips, because I am, but they don’t make it easy.

ParticipantI hope the competition is prominently advertised to CaBi folks since most of them are taking lots of short trips. Can’t think of a reason why DC with CaBi shouldn’t easily hit the 10K mark.

I think of this as a testament to my dedication to WABA, since the Clif challenge website is such a mess. I’d grouse about it a bit more on twitter or facebook, but I’d hate anyone to think I’m ungrateful for the donations Clif will make to WABA, so I’ll keep my trap closed (or at least contain it to here) and log away!

ParticipantI’m in….. The site is painfully slow on my end. I logged one ride so far. I think I’ll wait to log my other rides to see if it speeds up. Here’s hoping the site is bogged down from so many DC area riders signing up!!

ParticipantWABA *really* appreciates the effort everyone is making this month.

ParticipantThe site seems to want you to log your rides daily as it wants to auto-fill the date (today’s).

The date really doesn’t matter. It lets you enter 4 per day and only 4 per day. If you have more from a previous day, then you can’t really go back and fill them in.

ParticipantFor those of you who don’t like to click to the page where you log your miles, you could just bookmark http://2milechallenge.com/dashboard/ and go directly to that page. If you’re not logged in, it will ask for logon ID and password before getting you there. Mine asks me for Logon ID if I haven’t logged on for a few days on a particular computer, iPad or phone.
