    This is quite literally a false alarm.

    At one time it was a true alarm, a call box that could summon police or fire in the event of an emergency. But with all the electrical components removed, it can no longer summon anyone and thus has become a false alarm.

    I went to Bikenetic today cuz the chain & cassette on my trek pilot are TOAST. This is a pic of the TOAST fixers at Bikenetic 😀. That’s Jonathan in front, & Jamie just behind him.I circled the offending chain & cassette in green on my bike. But it’s really the Bikenetic mechanic station I’m featuring in my pic, cuz nothing I had at home could fix my TOAST problem

    I got this at Cosmo Cafe which is near the north side of the Wiehle Ave Metro Station in Reston. I have to say this is the abssolute best breakfast sandwich I’ve had in recent memory. It’s veggie egg and veggie cheese with sauteed onions, peppers, and tomato on ww TOAST. Yum yum!!!

    1/31/25 TOAST: My rainy ride in east Takoma Park brought me to a house which has clearly hosted many a TOAST over the years. Either that, or the owners like getting toasty by themselves.

    In this building is “Smithsonian Toastmasters” which I think is open for about an hour on Thursdays.

    I think it’s where you go to learn to orate or something.
