Do selifies count if we’re over 40?
Would violate Rule #18 “Let’s stick to things you find out there during your ride, not things you bring or make yourself (unless otherwise specified). Example 1: Don’t build a pile of dirt, snow, or rocks if the Wordle clue is “MOUND”; Example 2: if the Wordle clue is “FRUIT” don’t bring a piece of fruit with you on your ride, and take a photo of that. This takes the fun out of looking for things, which is the whole point.”
And 40 is so young for this group!

Wait…. So we don’t hafta solve a wordle?
I was thinking I wouldn’t be able to participate in the photo contest this year until /unless I figure out wordle. Which frankly might be a deal breaker for me
I’m the opposite, I love Wordle and play it daily. I have to be careful not to open this thread before I solve it [emoji16]

I believe drevil was originally inspired by this daily photo contest from four years ago: http://bikearlingtonforum.com/showthread.php?16000-Freezing-Saddles-Side-Game-What-day-is-it-(-nationalday)
AKSHUALLY – all love Steve O 😮 – but I was inspired by a photo scavenger hunt with the Velopigs group that happened a month prior to when I started mine. I had so much fun with it, I wanted to do it for others. I later started using a bunch of “National Day” themes, but that wasn’t the intent at the beginning.
BTW, if you were eligible, but didn’t get your patch or stickers from the year that I did the contest (2021) and still want them, please let me know via direct message and not in this thread. They cost me a pretty penny and I don’t need them
That said, some got lost in the shuffle, so I’ll give them out until I run out. You can check here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1txiMf8yvNRFeJIabv6U2dvJAWa5fjJ7syal2tsN4gQ0/edit#gid=0

Well, you should have been inspired. It was fun, too! I was planning to re-run it in 2021, but when you announced yours, I figured two different photos-of-the-day games was one too many. 😎

Participant1/2/2024 Aging (NOTE – MY TAKE/PHOTO IS NOT OBVIOUS)
One thing I’ve often thought about is how institutions deal with aging. For example, the Paulists, like many of the Brookland-area Catholic institutions, have been facing a declining and aging population for years, as well as an increasingly oversized and aging building. Their solution is one that moved them onto a more sustainable path and provided housing for hundreds: sell their land and building to developers to allow for around 300 new townhomes to be built, plus allow for their large building to be repurposed for two charter schools (one high school and one elementary), in exchange for a new, smaller building to house their group. This shows the current view from their main gate, with some of the newest townhomes on the left, the old building (that is now two charter schools) in the background, and their brand new building in the foreground on the right.

ParticipantI am so happy that this tradition has continued! it really is a fun game to play, and I love the WORDLE twist this year — brilliant idea @serdar and @kbikeva !!! I feel like “winning” is not what motivates me as much as I love the idea of all of us doing this and seeing the different photos. so fun.

Found something aging, that is older than me! Alexandria’s Bicentential tree was estimated to be 270 years old in 1976.
