    @nadine, I thought about going to the Holocaust Museum. It would have been closer, but it would have required sneaking out during the work day. The UMUC Student Union required a 30-mile round trip, but was open until midnight.

    Of course, if I’d gone to the Holocaust Museum, I would have missed the driver who berated me for actually using a headlight at night, because he was sure cyclists never got hit by cars. Sigh!

    Lookit what got SLICEd offa my bike today*!

    I really needed a new derailleur -.and wouldja believe Trek no longer makes derailleurs for their ’08 Madone? 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻

    Luckily I have this great 🚲 mechanic friend….. Anne W found me a used one on ebay in good shape – at such a great deal that she was afraid it would go if she didn’t buy it herself immediately! So I picked it up from her place en route to the lbs 😁💕🎊🤩

    [*I know this wouldn’t be a valid entry in the actual FS photo scavenger hunt cuz the pictured derailleur came from my bike – but I really hadda share this happy story! 😃😁🤷🏻]

    Going to the theater is one of the few things I value enough to make it worth it to be indoors with people, albeit masked.

    Unfortunately, I skipped ebony day. I had gone so far as to find a sculpture made of Kebony Clear (not the same thing as ebony, but it had all the right letters). But it had been a long week — including that stressful encounter on Wednesday — and I just couldn’t force myself out the door.

    I had pious all planned out. I was heading for the Apostolic Nunciature of the Holy See. Except that my e-bike suddenly stopped functioning and gave me an E 009 code. Google says that’s wiring that has become frayed. But it was the middle of the night, so nowhere to get it fixed.

    So I slogged home. You can ride an e-bike with no power, but it’s very heavy and clumsy, and it isn’t easy. But I made it.

    So then I figured I’d just take my regular bike. Except that something is pulling on it with every revolution of the wheel, making it unridable.

    So I’m afraid my piety for the night is at an all time low. In fact, I may have used some distinctly unpious language. Sigh!

    Thanks, @serdar. It looks like the controller on my e-bike is broken. My guy was going to see whether he had one, but otherwise I’ll have to wait until he can order one. I suspect the back wheel on my regular bike needs to be trued — it was rubbing against the brake for part of its rotation. However, I was at least able to get to the point I can ride it until I can get it to the shop, and can use that one until the e-bike is fixed. My rides will be shorter and slower for a while, but I really don’t want to stop riding at all.
