Participant3/16/2024 toxin
Chinese holly berries are a TOXIN for both people and animals. Don’t eat berries you find growing outside, no matter how pretty and appealing they might look!

Participant3/16 – Whatever this dude is on, it must’ve had at least one TOXIN in it!

Participant3/16 toxin – Today’s word led to an interesting discussion of “toxin” versus “toxicant” or “toxic” when kidSnowy suggested biking along the MBT to photograph the sign about the Ft. Meyer request for a permanent permit for their asphalt operation. It’s great @LhasaCM posted that and raised awareness! I think it fits with the colloquial use of “toxin.” But to be annoyingly pedantic, I stuck with the definition that toxins are of biological origin.
Daffodils contain the toxin lycorine, which when consumed can cause sickness or even death.

Participant3/16/24 TOXIN I know my entry is posted too late to be included which is fine. I took a good pic and have a good story to share…
At DE State Park called Fresh Pond, there is a plaque explaining the origin of the park name. On the plaque is a page from a short history of the state of Delaware published in 1870. It states that the fresh pond had some fishes living in it but the other pond, the salt pond, could not support fish. I had never before thought of salt as a TOXIN.

Participant3/17/24 SNORT
After a long ride, my biking buddies needed a little stimulant, so decided to SNORT a line.
So nobody loses their security clearance, I was told to clarify they were SNORTing sweeteners and not cocaine!

ParticipantThis contest is heating up. With 19 points available today and tomorrow almost any of you can come back with a triumph. Please, go out there and find your winning shot. The weather can’t cooperate more.
Attached is my photo that brought a victory to me two years ago when Millie and Rumi sponsored this prize. I remember that I was behind in points before the last day of 2022 Freezing Saddles.
My caption for this photo was “I hope that for a second you think you are looking at the Ferris Wheel.”
