W&OD to Westover is just damp with 1/2 inch of snow/slush on bridges. No need for studs on the way to HDCC.

Don’t speak too soon, there will be overnight freezing and could be another inch or so of accumulation before dawn. Got to get my money’s worth out of the studded tires. ;)

Just rode W&OD and Custis from EFC Metro to Ballston and there is just a little slush at Brandymore Castle.

That’s the price of living in Fairfax(i.e. suburbia).

Is everything west of Ohio Dr. considered Fairfax now? I can live with that.

Custis and WOD were 98% clear from Rosslyn to Vienna. I almost ate it on the 2% west of Gallows Rd riding 700 x 23 road tires.

Same here. But, wanted to point out. There’s quite a bit of thick ice on left your side (going west) on the 495 overpass just past va lane. Right side completely fine.

Everything west of Ohio Dr. should be considered Arlington, even out past Dulles.

    So really, the important question:

Road bike or hybrid for HDCC tomorrow? :)

Like how Virginia used to extend west in perpetuity?

I’m sticking with the studded tires for another day.

I rode home at about 9pm. Brandymore Castle Hill is icy on both sides. There were little icy patches spread out on the Custis and W&OD between Ballston and East Falls Church.

Used to? It will be revealed this year that Virginia actually does control all the territory to the Pacific Coast. Or more correctly, Arlington does.

At about 0645 (26 Feb), MVT from the CC Connector to the 14th Street Bridge had about 1/4 inch of snow. No ice noticed (the trail was pretty dry last night) and traction seemed fine on 32 non-studded tires.

Roads in the District were wet.

    Be safe.
