I hope the venue is ok with everyone. I looked around and Cap City still seems to offer the best combination of easy accessibility, prices, private room, good food and beer, bike and car parking, etc.

Any offers to volunteer to help in any way are appreciated, even if you have no idea yet as to what you would like to do.

Gah! I’m going to be out of town that day!

Bummer! I tried to get March 27, but their room was already reserved for that date, and Thursdays are the days that they have the awesome beer and appetizer prices. I didn’t want to put the happy hour off too far after the end of the competition.

Apr. 10 might also be an option, but I haven’t checked that date with Cap City yet. Preferences?

I hate to leave anyone out, but if you try to accommodate everyone you’re going to be planning this for the next 8 months.

I haven’t seen any strong sentiment favoring another date, so April 3 it is.

Heavy Seas is set to open February 27 next door to the BikeArlington office on Oak St just off Wilson Blvd. Wonder if they have a party room.

Okay, I’m in. I just told the director of the play I’m in (Actor’s Nightmare, playing at Chevy Chase Community Center April 4 -19, 2014) that I’m skipping the final dress rehearsal in order to attend the Final BAFS Happy Hour. Clearly, you folks are a high priority for me! Now to stay ahead of those pesky Francophones!

Just when everyone thought the competition is over:

I propose an additional competition for March 20 – April 2. The winning team will be the one for which at least two members of the team (any two, and it can’t always be the same two members) posts photos of themselves on a ride or enjoying a beverage with at least one member of *each* of the other teams between March 20 and April 2. To win, the team has to cover all of the other teams. Planning ahead is allowed, but the photos must be taken between March 20 and Apr. 2.

Speaking of which, would anyone like to get together for a quick post-BAFS celebration after work tonight or tomorrow?

My thoughts are perhaps Good Stuff Eatery in Crystal City, Heavy Seas Alehouse in Rosslyn, or Cap City in Shirlington (Thursday night special pricing), but am open to other ideas as well.

A short one on the way home would be welcome, it’s breezy, but very pleasant out this afternoon.

I’d be interested. Today wouldn’t be possible (play rehearsal), but I could do any of the suggested locations tomorrow.

I had forgotten about the coffee clubs when I wrote that, but I’m up for anything anyone wants to do today and/or tomorrow evening regardless. I’ll be offline for awhile this afternoon, so anyone should feel free to make a decision and I’ll join you there. Any preferences, Chris or Carol? Earliest I can leave the office will be around 5. Hope that’s not too late.
