Plastic grocery bags! I can’t believe this worked!
Ha! The only part of me that was waterproofed this morning was my torso covered by a jacket. When I got to work and went to the gym to shower, I just walked in and started the shower with my shorts and shirt on to wash all the road funk off. I probably should have tried to squeeze my bike in there, too.

ParticipantSo I just pulled out my wife’s pop-up tent. There is no label or identifying info on the bag/carrying case. So I opened it up and pulled out the instructions. There is no identifying info here either – no brand name, model number, etc. Just pics and badly worded text on how to assemble. I find this hilarious that a manufacturer of a product would be so discrete in identifying the product they make. I suppose that if I pulled the tent out and assembled it that I’d find something, but I’m feeling pretty lazy at the moment. Sorry I can’t provide the help I thought I could.

How about 10×10?
Its more about how much weighs in total, and then we’d want to be able to customize it too.
My wife just got one of these for her business and it’s not too heavy – guessing 30lbs. We assembled it in maybe a minute. I’ll get the info when I get home and post it for you tonight.

ParticipantKansas City Monarchs baseball cap worked just fine in today’s conditions on what was a good, fun ride. I’ve got an appointment with the optomotrist in 2 weeks to look into getting contacts again. Thanks to all for your suggestions and advice.

ParticipantI wish I could remove my glasses, but my vision is too deficient to do so. Maybe I’ll return to contact lens if I figure out how to get enough sleep to tolerate them. Thanks for the input.

I was told by a physical therapist, back when I had some serious knee problems, that bicycling actually helps cranky, arthritic knees. The trick is to gear down and then pedal faster. That way, you don’t put the pressure on the knees that you’d have with jerkier pedaling, and you exercise the muscles that help to keep the kneecap in place.
Thanks for that. I’ve been kind of stumbling in that direction. I try to keep my pedal rpm’s around 90, and find when I do I don’t have lingering soreness.

ParticipantBecause it’s fun.
Because I capture time by combining two activities (though I lose reading time by not sitting on bus/Metro).
Because when everything is working right it makes me joyful, to the point where I will unconsciously whoop and holler.
Because I like leaving a smaller carbon footprint on the planet.
Because if you have ever come ripping down the hill on Virginia Ln with that extra rush of speed when you rejoin the W&OD…

Participantthanks all…from reading it seems like a good group that travels here.
