Iām doing trail past the basketball court to Roosevelt, right on 17th, left on Roosevelt/Sycamore, right on 16th.
This is what I am doing as well. It is MUCH safer and easier than trying to navigate that 66 on ramp or the traffic coming in/out of the kiss & ride lot.

ParticipantTrails were wet but not icy or slushy this morning. The detour at Banneker Park is now in effect at East Falls Church.

You better ride more miles than your dad. š

No signs of construction at Banneker Park as of 9am.
When I went home yesterday afternoon, they had placed barriers beside the trail and covered detour signs. When I went through this morning, they were still there and the trail was still open.
I expect they will have everything in place sometime today for the detour.

Thanks for posting this event. Does anyone know if there is secure parking for my E-bike at the venue?
Gregory
There is a parking garage across the street from the Drafthouse. There is a TON of bike parking in the garage. Free. Secure-ish. Out of the elements. Warm. Go get your bike parking on.

Having been on a winning team before, I cared a lot more about my team winning than winning individually. A lot of that may have just been because I had a really great team that year that showed up for everything. We’d routinely have 10 or 11 members show up to a happy hour.
That was an amazing year. It felt like most of the teams clicked and the social aspect was pretty damned ridiculous. Kudos to the team assignment czar for that one!

I almost feel like I should register reji in the next 9 minutes before registration closes, even though she’s asleep at the moment. But I guess she’ll just have to miss out.
There is always day of registration!

BikenetiCX is fun for ALL ages and all abilities of bike-y-ness (including non-bike-y-ness). I heard you guys have to head out to Leesburg anyway, just make a pit stop for a couple of hours!

New start date for the closure is December 3rd. There was a sign up yesterday afternoon.

ParticipantCalling out everyone who said they were going to race CX this year and have not shown up yet! This is your second to last chance this season! The course is fun! There is free beer! There is a pirate ship! And if you are a Cat 4/5 woman, you get FREE SOCKS (if you pre-register)! Calling you out Reji and Emm!
If you worry about being cold, there are heated bathrooms, there will be fire pits, and a heated lodge for registration!
Pre-reg ends Thursday night, so hurry on up!

You stay much MUCH warmer when running than when riding. I ran to work this morning (23F) in light tights and a wool base layer on top and was quite toasty (except for my fingers). When I ran to work last week (43F), I wore shorts and a long sleeve tech shirt and was almost too warm.

Fun fact: This happened AGAIN. This time to the front tire, so of course it’s out of warranty . I’m replacing it, but the staff at the bike shop wasn’t helpful on figuring out new tires since I’m not sure I trust this model anymore. They claim it might just be a “bad batch” since the front tire and failed rear one were bought together. I’m not happy though.
I can not tell from the original picture, and am too lazy to look back through the thread for confirmation, but those look like Maxxis Ramblers. I have had two have this problem now that were purchased at the same time. The replacement for the rear that Bikenetic got replaced under warranty is still going strong. The front got a bulge back in August (about a year after the rear). I replaced it with a WTB Resolute that I won at GRUSK a couple of years ago. I like it so far and will be replacing the rear with the same in the near future (mostly because the front is now tan wall and I hate that they do not match).
