ParticipantI have a Kuat NV 2.0 (the rack you saw in my NBD photo). I actually really like it, but I am selling it in the next few weeks (already have a buyer, or I would offer it up here) and buying a 1up due to the positioning of the backup camera on my new bike carrier. The 1up has a slimmer profile when folded and will cause less interference (and hopefully stop that godawful beeping) when backing up.

ParticipantBikenetic had a surplus of the shirts from last year’s Falls Church stop, I imagine there might be a similar situation this year. If all else fails, you can have mine.

ParticipantIt is and I would ask (or at least tell) both.

Casey, have they booked the entertainment for the after-party yet?
No idea… But I might be down to sing a few tunes with you!

Hmmmm.. Methinks a Tour De Falls Church Bikeshare is in order starting with some pancakes at Mike’s, some pupper walks and ending with some drinks at Clare and Dons.

ParticipantI like where this is going. Have I ever steered you guys wrong? It is going to be an amazing day. The routes that were picked go on some of my favourite roads.
Come ride bikes with me! 😎

Did he (she? unlikely) realize he put a 69-year-old in the hospital and not feel awful about it?
Not sure about the Colorado incident, but a woman was charged and convicted for setting traps for two years in Vancouver.

ParticipantNOOOOOOO! I am so sad that I am going to miss this (Keystone Gravel Race is that day). We will chat offline, but let me know what I can do to help with planning!

ParticipantYeah, this kind of stuff is done out on MTB trails in the area on a regular basis. It really sucks that someone would be so angry about cyclists on trails that they would set traps like these. One of the incidents up in Frederick put someone in the hospital for several weeks.

ParticipantI have an event on Saturday, but if I can get out of bed in time, I may come meet you guys at the lockhouse and ride back with you. Unless the weather is fabulous. Then I may meet you at Riley’s lock and wave as you ride past then go mountain biking!

ParticipantMy guess is it was one of the giant potholes in that intersection that took him/her down.
I can not wait for construction to be finished and for them to repave that area. It truly is awful.

The weight is a problem; with it pushing 30 pounds, you may have better results riding an exquisite, lively, lightweight $3,000 non e-bike than this $4000+ bike.
Hmm. I have no problem pushing around a 45 pound commuter “analogue” bike on a daily basis. Sure, I am slower on my commuter than on my sub 20-pound gravel race bike, but the point of a commuter bike (IMO) is to be a work horse, not a race horse.
Rule #5. HTFU. Ride the heavy bike. It only makes you faster on the lighter bike.
