ParticipantBecause everyone feels entitled to the roads. And as a matter of fact, bikes and cars ARE entitled to use the roads.

ParticipantVis 360 on the helmet, which has front, side and rear lights. I use blinky mode on trails and roads at dusk. At darkness I use high or low on trails only and blinky on roads.
Handlebar has a minewt. Blinky on roads, high/low on trails after dusk. I try and aim all lights away from trail users.
Drivers that might threaten my safety or right of way get the helmet lights RIGHT IN THEIR EYES.

ParticipantWould love to help, but am out of town. Can I get a bunch of these to pass out while I ride? I’ve given away the ones I got from the fair.

ParticipantCarry some alcohol swabs in your pack to wipe down ASAP.
Though I disagree with you dressing. Use a generic triple antibiotic instead. The faster you get in on the wound the better.

ParticipantFound a better option. Shift onto the lowest gear cog, and then without pedaling shift down to the highest gear. Tons of slack allows you to loosen the barrel a bit

ParticipantDamn, I wish you would have been selling this in May. Sounds perfect for me, but I bought the Surly already

ParticipantRiley makes some good points about grocery shopping and how the bike defines what you buy. With one pannier and a bike rack, I can load a ton of grocerires on the Surly. The trick is to get paper bags and then pack them yourself.
