The Pointless Poggio turned out to be more exciting than the real Milan San Remo. We had 24 unique riders on the segment, with more than half doing it more than once. Ultimately, It came down to Ken B, Frank V (me), and Sam F in the individual competition. Ken and myself were driving the results in the team competition for RestonRolls and IceRoad Truckers, respectively. Ken (and his team by association) was quick to rack up many repeats and was leading both of the competitions for the majority of the time. It took a lot of effort on my part to catch back up and then get my team on top in the team competition (I’m ineligible for the individual as it’s my competition).
On the final day, with a great showing of support several IceRoad Truckers came out to ride the Poggio to clench the team competition. Ken remained on top in the individual with a great margin over second place Sam F.
For his efforts Ken wins a six-pack of Peroni or his favorite Italian soda/seltzers. I’ll reach out to him directly. Maybe I can get it to him before the FS HH.Team IceRoad Truckers wins a large pizza from the Italian store. This prize will be a little harder to award, and I’ll have to take a rain check to when team can get together.spelterParticipantWell MSR is canceled but the Poggio simulations went to an exciting finish!
spelterParticipantI’ve joined both.
spelterParticipantJoined!
spelterParticipant@DCAKen I can’t make out your picture can you upload it differently made as an attachment?
I can tell it’s not working properly as I also have more rides that it has counted.
EDIT: 1/10/2020 20:58 it actually appears that a correction was made and now it counted all my rides. It said 9 before and now it says 11. The correct number.
spelterParticipantI’m glad this is mostly working for folks and you like the segment. I’ve done it from a few different directions including the bike path and Strava seems to always pick it up (live segment) and then it makes its way to the leaderboard fine.
spelterParticipantWorking great!
spelterParticipantI could be a serious contender here if I can give my kid an iPad while he’s in the Burley.

spelterParticipantThis is Awesome! I’m getting a 500 Internal Server Error right now though Thank you
spelterParticipantThis was just an existing segment with a lot of local history. I did not make it. It’s not a KOM competition so carrying speed down from Military into the first climb is not a real factor. Making the U-turn on Joyce safely if doing loops from that direction should not be a problem. In a a lot of cases in real life you don’t need to be that close for Strava to match the segment anyways.
If this isn’t a popular segment I can always change it to Forsythe https://www.strava.com/segments/655938
spelterParticipantI’m sponsoring POGGIO Simulations I’ve talked to the IT folks and it shouldn’t require any hashtag.
spelterParticipantI think we are still getting our show together.
spelterParticipantYes the weather underground API is no longer. The tech team is working on doing one with Darksky I hear.
