It’s the crossing Shirlington Road that freaks me out. Even when the pedestrian crossing lights are flashing I’ve had cars nearly run me down. And I’ve lost count of the number of trucks that have blocked the crosswalk entirely when they have a red light, so instead of crossing when traffic is stopped, I have to wait for traffic to have a green light and hope they actually obey the VA law and stop. It’s my daily nerve-wracking wake up on my morning commute.
