ParticipantAnyone able to report on the conditions of 4 Mile Run trail, the MVT (especially around National airport), or the 14th Street Bridge?? I’m especially concerned about the overpasses/bridge areas being icy.
I know parts of the trails were prepped with anti-ice solution, but that only works if you also clear the snow/ice.

ParticipantI swear I had an account, but it disappeared. So I’ve joined the Forum again! Yay!

Except it doesn’t get rid of having to cross Shirlington road to get to/from the trail from what I read, so Reji will still have to look out for cement trucks…
Per the article:
The Four Mile Run plan also considered an underpass running beneath the bridge, negating the need for cyclists and other trail users to cross busy Shirlington Road, though that was not discussed at the Transportation Commission meeting. Arlington County is currently working on a $15.5 million renovation project for Jennie Dean Park, adjacent to the future bridge. It’s the crossing Shirlington Road that freaks me out. Even when the pedestrian crossing lights are flashing I’ve had cars nearly run me down. And I’ve lost count of the number of trucks that have blocked the crosswalk entirely when they have a red light, so instead of crossing when traffic is stopped, I have to wait for traffic to have a green light and hope they actually obey the VA law and stop. It’s my daily nerve-wracking wake up on my morning commute.
