I have a Cannondale XL, with everything set to the highest position, and it just sorta barely fits. I understand Cannondale now makes a “Jumbo” size. Jumbo?? Jumbo!!! Come’on! I’m not an elephant!

    Sez you.

I admit that I quit logging my rides this month. Sorry MA, but you’re going to have to apologize for the Red Sox AND the Patriots before I’ll change my mind.

Must those of us of limited stature continue to endure this blatant hostility and discrimination?!

The crossing also occurs before the road has completely narrowed to one lane wide. The more aggressive drivers may still try to go around those stopping in front of them.

I guess it doesn’t count here if I have the same Range Rover passing me with about 4″ clearance on L Street every so often?

(Yes, I can tell it is intentional — I ride smack dab down the center of the lane and he or she has to straddle two lanes to get so close to me).

I learned in my scooter-riding days that cars’ side mirrors break quite nicely. No, I’m not making any overt suggestions.

Remember Tim, “if you’re nose bleeds you’re picking it too much. Or not enough.”

Or it could be the Hudson.

Hoping that when they remove them, that WMATA thinks of Phoenix Bikes. Likely the frames are sound.

More likely the people tasked with removing them will think of craigslist first and the dumpster second.

You can take Long Bridge Drive to Boundary Channel and then across the wooden bridge to the park by the marina, and then out the northern tunnel under the Humpback Bridge. Or, you can off-road in the grass by the ramp from 395 to Boundary Channel as soon as you cross under 395, and that leads to the dead-end trail to the southern tunnel under the Humpback Bridge. I did that once by accident (trying to find out where that southern tunnel went to), but there’s not much point in that if you’re actually trying to increase mileage.

I like the Mongoose at Potomac that has the seat removed and locked up, but the rear wheel was left free to roam.

Is this some kind of invitation to take these bikes away? Because I’d gladly pick up that red Cannondale or the Sirrus if I’m not going to get in trouble for it.

I, too, have only been on this forum for a short time. I’ve come to see that the cyclists here are far from the average cyclist. They’re responsible ambassadors of the community. Your first post was seething with anger, venom, and disdain for “all cyclists”.

—>>> Some Bicyclists Make All Bicyclists Look Bad <---- Now your latest post is additionally hostile. I’m not sure how you expect this community to respond. I also am not sure if you’re pointing the finger in the right direction concerning “insult and talk down to someone”.

Totally agree. ML85 started off pissed, which is fine to a point, and received some snarky remarks and questions of authenticity, but MOSTLY got constructive criticism. There was even a Jesus quote directing us all to look to our own actions before worrying about others. What more could you want?

Back to the Cross Check. Whats with the Bar End Shifters?!?!?! I know tourers like them because they need less adjustment, but seriously, I would love that bike if it wasnt for those.

I like the bar end shifters, but I don’t like how the cables of Surley’s shifters route outside of the bars instead of through the bars like most. It seems like you’d snag the cables whenever you moved your hands along the drops.
