Just a quick tip on your way out – when you come off of Mt. Ephraim, take a left on 28 and there is a nice little country convenience store there on your left about a minute down the road.
I know that store! I’ve stopped several times going to/from Sugar Loaf.

Another opportunity to distinguish your stupidity. Freezing Rain forecast for tonite!
This forecast really pissed me off. I was looking forward to three straight days of full commute. Now I’ll have to involve the metro somehow. I hate riding the metro when there’s a perfectly functioning bike to be ridden.
DAMN YOU FREEZING RAIN!!

A lot of people leave bikes leaning against the railing right outside the window, some locked, some not. I’ve never been comfortable leaving mine unlocked. There’s a good chance you could buddy with someone who has a cable lock or something. There’s a lot of foot traffic, and I think the chances of something being stolen are very low, but you never know.
Super, thanks!

ParticipantWhat’s the bike parking situation at Swings? I don’t normally commute with a bike lock (indoor parking at the office FTW!).

I know you said steel, but what about titanium? Bikes Direct has this drool worthy bike.
Very sharp. I’ve had my eye on this one as well.
I read somewhere that a pretty bike goes faster. I believe it.

ParticipantThis is a great deal. I have this light in the 420 lumen version. This 680 lumen is on sale for $80. This model has the ability to swap out an extra battery (not included) which is awesome for really long night rides (if that’s your thing).

ParticipantWednesday is looking downright pleasant. Finally, a full commute day instead of a #metrocombomodalsleaze !!

Just got to work. First time commuting with bar mitts and they are awesome — only part of my body that felt cold at end of ride was feet. Not sure what to do about that…
Pretty nice day, all things considered.
New product idea: Pedal mitts! Pedal socks? Pedal Slippers?? We can work on the marketing later…

You should definitely do it before March.
Seriously, though, would love to see your route…
Me too!
I’ve not yet gone beyond basic Google mapping it. Lots to plan, but for now it’s a mid-term goal to keep my eyes on and turn a sleaze ride into a 10-miler.

Since it’s such lovely road cycling weather, I figured I’d sell my road bike! (I’ll just wait and relist it in the spring if it doesn’t sell within the next couple weeks.)
Sharp bike, great price! A bit big for me and my n+1 is going to be a CX bike when I can swing it.

This sounds like a gauntlet thrown.
It’s not called Burning Saddles…
(that would be fun during the summer in Phoenix though…I used to play tennis in July and shoes would literally get soft and start melting)

ParticipantAt the meetup the other night, I was talking to someone from NOVA about the great riding in MoCo in the AgReserve/Sugar Loaf area. This is from early November…back when it was warm and toasty.
