I haven’t seen any responses, so I’m guessing there’s no one up for this. If you’re interested, you need to let me know ASAP. Otherwise, I’ll make plans to do something else on Wednesday. Thanks!

Hi. Thanks for organizing this ride. I would like to come and explore public art on both sides of the toll road. Hope for more participants!

A panorama shot of a walking and biking path under Duke Street connecting Dulany Street and Diagonal Road. Sometimes it is closed. Maybe on weekends and holidays, but I have not figured it out completely yet.

    Edmonson Sisters

    Sculptor: Erik Blome

    Location: 1701 Duke St, Alexandria

Story: Paul Edmonson’s efforts to free his daughters brought him to New York City in the fall of 1848 and eventually to the Plymouth Congregational Church in Brooklyn, led by the Rev. Henry Ward Beecher. Rev. Beecher took up the Edmonson’s cause, preaching about the fate of the Christian, light-skinned Edmonson sisters should they be sold down south, and quickly raised Bruin’s asking price of $2,250. By November 1848, Mary and Emily were free.

It was my second bike ride to Lake Accotink. The first happened when I wanted to explore new routes (as always. Sorry for not being honest). The second ride occurred thanks to a Calvinball game. Not only did I retrieve CB, but I also found a lake and a park.

Absolutely correct! I was on Eric’s ride thanks to which I explored a new route.

    Wilkes Tunnel
    Wilkes Street, Alexandria, VA
There was a railroad many years ago, and now it is a tunnel for pedestrians and bikers. The tunnel is also very popular for photoshoots among families, couples, and other people.
