Those are gorgeous! I don’t have the patience to follow patterns, but knitting something like this might be worth it.

I made sure to get the pogies that match the box and my black-cat bell for a pop of color. High art, you know.sdots

3/11/21-face using pareidolia
I’ve always seen faces in cars – but I realized on my ride today that they’ve changed! They used to look a lot happier & cuter – or at least some of them did. While car faces still look like faces, today’s cars mostly look nonplussed. I wonder if that’s a reflection of social changes [emoji848]
Anyhow after scouring a coupla neighborhoods and finding all these bored looking cars, I finally have up & went down Anne’s cul de sac, where I know her neighbor has an old fashioned beetle. (Bet you can guess how I know that [emoji38][emoji1360]Go Drevil!) Beetles always look happy.
This Beetle was fronted into the driveway. They look a bit different from behind…..This one has a dark arched thing on the hood that when turned upside down makes a nice smile underneath the taillight eyes.
Oh and btw I love Bobby McFerrin – but “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” was so overplayed that I didn’t like him till after I heard some of his other stuff.
Among my favorites of his are: Yes, You

Nadine, I do too. I have a picture I took in France in about 1993 of a 2CV in a spot at the mouth of a lower parking garage level that looks like a face peeking out to see what’s above. I wish I could find it for you. I suspect you’d be one of the people who gets it right away.

Cat 5: Nice light and paper art coordinationsdots
ParticipantA cat 10 entry of a different sort. The lights at this church make it look like dogs are guarding the door.

ParticipantA cat 5 spotted on tonight’s ride:
It’s been a long winter for Frosty and Santa, but it’s going to be above freezing for the next week, so they decided to celebrate the end of a long work season. Yet, despite being under the watchful eyes of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, the tippling got out of hand.February 23, 2021 at 4:56 am in reply to: Freezing Saddles 2021 – Daily Photo Scavenger Hunt #1112313sdots

2/22/21 – Purple House
On February 22, 1994, Prince is granted the trademark on the love symbol he has been using as his name.
On your ride, since Purple Rain might be a little hard to find, seek a purple house. The house does not have to be totally purple — it can have purple shutters or a door. Any shade of purple is fine, as long as it’s not pink.
Happy hunting!

Coming to you from the St. Paul/Minneapolis BAFS 2021 contingent, I give you actual Purple Rain. It’s not lit at night so the picture sucks, but they probably don’t want idiots like me taking pictures of it 35 years later. (Don’t know why pic is uploading sideways–it was straight on FB post. Did I break the rules because I’m editing this after midnight?)

ParticipantBtw, is there a category for people lit up while walking across lakes? It’s not much a light show, but I figured it was a light show that you don’t get to see in DC.

ParticipantI took these cat 5 photos last weekend and keep forgetting to post them. Maybe all these subzero temps have frozen my brain. This was my -1 degrees F for Team One ride. I got a better picture of the little tree on the bike path (even though it was 19 degrees colder than when I froze while taking the last picture–getting used to extreme cold!).
This ride was in Minneapolis, so I thought it would be good to get some local BLM and George Floyd activism for the DC (and elsewhere) crowd.
