Worst part is that it seems to be the city’s own trucks destroying that trail to access material stockpiles that could be located elsewhere.
The APD and other Alexandria City staff find it perfectly acceptable to drive their cars and sometimes, backhoes on the trails. When asked about what they were going to do to repair the damage they had caused, no answer was forthcoming.

Whoa… Is that in Fahrenheit? How in the world does one prepare for that?!
I think the Rule #9 award goes to you!
The measured temperature was -25C (-13F).
Preparation involves layers. It’s all about the layers.

scorchedearth pushing the envelope for rules 5 and 9, badass.
That ride in Toronto only served to reinforce in me, the idea that one can ride in almost any weather if one is prepared.

Don’t you ever take a rest day?? Tomorrow would be a good day for it.
No rest for the wicked.

ParticipantI, like many others here, spend way too much time on Strava and the leaderboards checking progress.
So far this year, I’ve ridden every single day. That is what BAFS has done to my brain.

This thread tends to get buried with newer posts, and I think Strava notifies you when someone posts on the strava club site (is that right?)
I just got the notification from your post in the group, so yes.

ParticipantHas everyone joined the team yet? Some teams have nine members and others have eight.

Dirt’s leading a ride for studded tires on the icy WOD tomorrow morning, I may sit this one out – too much like my commute. I was thinking maybe a 30 mile coffee ride around noon with the family. Want to join? Team?
I’m going for a ride to Del Ray with my wife tomorrow. We’ll likely be at St Elmo’s but I’m not sure exactly when.

ParticipantHow about something dramatic like The Dragon Slayers?

ParticipantI’d be best by Minnie Howard School or in Fairlington somewhere. However, if you guys are taking the ped bridge from Glebe, I’ll just meet you at the event.

ParticipantI am coming from the West End if you want to meet somewhere, Peter.

ALL,
I’m okay, but my shoulder is not. Doc says I need an operation. My spirits are fine with one regretful exception: I must withdraw from BAFS15, and willingly offer my place to a worthy waitlister.
Best of luck to everyone…especially those superb riders who I was hoping to challenge, but who know’s I may be riding again before spring!
Fast Friendly Guy
I’m sorry to hear that you got hurt. Recover soon!
