Late entry, but I biked at least twice a week to & from DCA for a 6 month period when I had a small construction project there. Sometimes it was on my way into work to DC and sometimes it was to & from my office in DC. For those short trips, I usually used my beater single speed I kept at the office for short rides across the mall. I usually locked it to the bike racks that used to be on either end of the terminal on the lower level by baggage claim as this was more convenient. I think they probably got rid of these. For overnight work or day flights to NY, I would usually park the bike at the racks by the metro station entry as these have video surveillance on them. I never parked any of my bikes at the bike boneyard shown in others’ photos. There are also a couple of obscure bike racks near the pet relief areas if you can find them.

For luggage, I use either TwoWheelGear suit bag or their duffel. Both attach to rear rack like panniers.

I saw somewhere that you need to bring your own chair. Is that necessary? Picnic blanket for the grass? Bike lock? Thanks for any recommendations.

This has got my head spinning and not in a good way. I have a homeowner’s insurance policy for the house I rent out, but maybe I don’t have any policy/coverage for my stuff in the place I live at for almost free. Whew- thank goodness the car I barely drive is covered, but not for additional drivers- ACK! I need to make a phone call.

I am here, late, but decided to wait out the storm for a bit. Still wet and nasty and the drivers are crap. Should we try again next week?

More disturbing than the lack of coverage of female amateur/pro cycling is the objectification of male pro cyclists. Is anyone else disturbed that the second most popular Google search for Greipel is “Greipel quads”?

Hey everyone, ride is still on pending torrential downpour. Route may be modified depending on weather and group consensus. Please let me know if you are coming. Thanks!

Thanks for organizing this, Kathy. Sadly I will not be there with my stylish ortho boot because I signed up to attend some froofy fete at the French Embassy. Rookie mistake as I’d rather be partying with y’all. Enjoy!!!
