ParticipantThere’s a black cat that resides next to the trail in the mornings just behind the Navy Federal building in Vienna on the WOD. Travel at your own risk.

ParticipantWatch out for the sand that is piled up under N Carlin Springs Rd on the WOD (on the west side of the bridge). It’s dry and loose and you could lose traction fast if it takes you by surprise. The problem is that it is directly in the line of traffic.

I think that is actually Sparrow Pond. That was probably the same goose that was hissing at me on the way home last night. At least it stayed on the edge of the trail unlike the doofus geese by the fields of golden daffodils on Columbia Island that were just sort of sauntering across the MVT.
To me, it’s the frog pond. Or better yet, Kermit’s Pond.

ParticipantFalls Church police are staking out the trail stop sign just past the Rt. 7 bridge on the WOD. (If your heading east).

ParticipantThere is a pretty feisty goose near (to what I call it) the Frog pond, heading east just before Col. Pike. He’s pretty angry. Consider yourself warned.

ParticipantNVRPA didn’t respond but this hazard is now clear. You can now blast away through this blind curve.

I just wrote the NVRPA about this. Simply been too long for this mud to still be there. If I had a shovel I’d do it myself.

ParticipantThis thread seems to increase post counts every spring. Coincidence?

This morning rpiretti told me he does the same. Then on our brief ride together, I heard him do it, and it seemed pretty good to me. (He also has a righteous bell. Ask him to ring it for you if you get a chance.)
Thanks, yeah and I usually add a “thank you” to “passing”. It goes a long way and I’ve had many folks who say thank you back. I judge the situation though, I’ll ring the bell if I feel like it’s needed. Like David said it’s kinda loud so I don’t like ringing it in people’s ears if I can help it.
