Are cue sheet holders allowed instead of Garmins? ;)

As of this morning the tree is partially still there but moved mostly out of the way but gravel/sticks remain between Columbia Pike and 50. Saw three flats yesterday along this stretch. Nutty morning.

To the nice lady who said “Hi, Rob” on the WO&D today, Hey! And I didn’t recognize you but like seeing nice folks on the trail such as you. See you around.

Said “..Then Spotted and said “HI” to Rando Guy on the W&OD… I am pretty sure he had something uber cool in his handlebar bag as usual.

Just the usual – sandwich, apple, two bags of chips, windbreaker and rain cover for later

There are more than one Crane bell. I have two of one the with the lever striker, the Suzu. It is good and loud, but dulls in the rain.

There are also the Karen with a spring mouted strike hammer, the Riten rotary, and a version similar to the Incredibell.

Thanks Consularrider. Yes, I have the Suzu as well and it does dull in rain. But, luckily there isn’t that many folks on the trail when raining. Kidding aside, I alternate depending on the circumstances. Usually, I ring the bell with walkers and runners due to headphones and call when passing for bikes. As for the bell, I’m curious about the Karen. Seems like it would last longer due to a more secure hammer. But, brass would be the loudest material whatever model you choose.

So there’s this bell that’s made by Crane in Japan. I have it. Loud is F&$k. People never get in my way anymore. Gets the dog’s attention too, the works. Get the brass one, it’s the loudest. Just a suggestion for which bell to get.

True, I’m seeing you way too much. Time to change my route. Any guesses to what was in the handlebar bag today? ;-) @Dickie 52838 wrote:

Also spotted Rando Guy on the W&OD, didn’t yell “Crystal” this time, but managed a “rando” shout! Good to see you yet again sir…. this is becoming a habit.

I’m up for it, I’ll be paying attn to the thread. I’m doing a C&O run next weekend, the wife is taking a trip down south. Saturday to Antietam from Vienna and staying overnight in Harpers Ferry and then back on Sunday. Should be a good warmup and a good way to get experience on this trail before attempting the whole thing.

Not against anyone joining me next wknd so if you want to join let me know but may want to let the Tea Horse Hostel know to secure a bed, they’re running out of room, popular Memorial Weekend!

Little belated but to the Arlington cop last week who slammed on the gas before looking where you were turning, you scared the crap out of me. (George Mason @ 4 Mile Run).

I was highly envious of everyone that had that wind yesterday! At that point, I was being blasted. I then channeled my Cat6 training and sped up.

Pretty sure I spotted AmericanCyclo getting off the W&OD near Shreve today around 5:00, and then Rando Guy on 4 Mile Run around 5:30, I was heading east with an amazing tail wind.
