ParticipantSure they do but they do seem a bit big. Making up for there only being one per shoe I guess.
I am curious though, seeing the Specialized logo in the corner of the pic, exactly where was this advert or whatever found? I’m as much a fan of cheesecake as the next guy but seems to me that cycle advertising has been trying to avoid this kind of overt ‘cheezeness’ given the demographics of the cycling market.

Pft. Those shoes don’t even have cleats.

ParticipantI had two bikes stolen from the garage behind my house in one year. I was annoyed and put out at the time but later learned that they were probably taken by a neighbor kid who had a long standing drug problem. That thief I felt sorry for. The opportunistic weasel in this video? Not at all. ” Its not illegal to buy stolen stuff, I looked it up dude”. Really? REALLY?? Sheesh

I know…I KNOW it is completely weird…
…but why do I feel badly for the bike thief?

ParticipantThanks for the update. I’ve driven the Denton to Dewey trip so many times I’d love to ride it once. Interesting that your Garmin thinks that Dewey is 12 ft below sea level.

ParticipantAt the least they could have done your nails in something festive.

ParticipantSnort * While those of us at the upper edge of “normal” continue to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous retail inventories? I think not.

ParticipantThis is an informative and timely thread from some obviously knowledgeable folks. I’ve been exercising 45 minutes daily for 20 years now but largely on an aerobic basis, with sit up and burpees as the most strenuous element of the work out. As a result I have nice low blood pressure, can bike for more miles than my age without running out of gas but above the waist I have no strength of any use. Can I improve on this without equipment and a training regimen by simply changing my mix of home exercise or is there no way around signing up for a gym membership?

ParticipantThe riding and running have me impressed to no end with Tim’s fortitude. Its the “Swim 2.4 miles in the Hudson River” part that has me scratching my head about Tim’s soundness of mind.
Ha – should have let Tim finish his post.

ParticipantI dunno. That first one looks an awfully lot like Dr Who is keeping an eye on the Daleks.

ParticipantWhile I will admit that I vaguely remember the last veteran of the Civil War dying when I was a little kid I can safely say I do not remember the Army cutting down the trees for the defense of the city – definitely before my time. On the other hand I do remember entire army divisions taking up 20 miles of the right lane of the then two lane I95 while they tried out the newly minted Defense Highway System but that was a different war – of sorts.

I have lived all over WasheDC. Arlington is still my favorite place.

ParticipantI’m in on anything from jerseys to stickers – except the reflective Velcro staps. I’ve already carped about those. Bright yellow is always a plus but then I’m enough of wuss ( woose ?) to put personal safety above fashion – oh the shame!

ParticipantMatching tattoos on our palms combined with a secret handshake might get some traction.

So I guess the idea of getting matching tattoos is over. Rats.

ParticipantI must be missing something important in biking. Never worn a heart rate monitor. Last cycle computer I had died years ago and I never replaced it. Downloaded an app that tracked my rides and used it once then deleted it promptly when I discovered it ate my phone battery to death in one ride. Don’t own any Lycra, although I have been considering it recently ( I don’t look as good in Lycra and rhinestones as Ann does anyway). Never been in a bike race and damn few group rides aside from the occasional WABA social event cum ride. I ride to get from point A to point B, be it for fun or profit ( or groceries ). Ann you’re making all sound too much like work. 😮
Oh, and I have never, ever used pedal clips or even straps ( although the straps have always made good trouser ties )
