ParticipantIs that a VIS Micro or the full size VIS? Do you have the box or anything else?

ParticipantI am a little confused with what is now happening. Is it the Mike set up his own crowdsource funding for a charity based on his riding and is suggesting other do that as well. It is not officially tied to Freezing Saddles but it might be?

ParticipantStopped on the South Capital bridge to watch a Bell V22 Osprey hovering and flying around. Still amazed by those craft. Found it odd how loud it was when close but quiet as it got a luittle further away and started the tilt towards horizontal flights.

I recognize that bike (I think that the mud helps)- crazy bars… You started right in front of me in Masters.
Those are Jones bars I used. Jones Bars are not so crazy nor uncommon, there was a second rider in our race with them. Joe started on a fat bike with them. He did pit and pulled out a normal CX bike after the first lap. CX bikes with narrow tires are so better in such mud, able to cut down and get traction unlike 29ers or fat bikes that tend to float above the more solid soil.

ParticipantTo coordinate with my GF who planned to race, I ended up driving. Good since riding home on this bike afterwards would have been tough.

Edit: Yeap, King Barrack and a few of his royal court are rolling up today.
Why is the head of state doing his job make him worthy of the insult of being a royal?

Sweet. I should be there in my Potomac Velo Kit and weirdo bike with Jones bars. Doing the 3/4/5 35 plus at 9.

I had thought about that but every time I go in the trails I get a bit lost. Only ridden there four or so times.

ParticipantGot a charity to suggest to be considered as a beneficiary. It makes food deliveries every Saturday throughout DC. Food for All DC. http://www.foodforalldc.org/wp/ Food for All DC has been around since 1984.
I even have the idea of suggest Freezing Saddle folks show up to make deliveries via bikes with some sort of bonus for the miles covered. Or maybe with cars if they don’t feel up to deliveries via bike.

ParticipantThat Gold line idea is ok, however, the number of stops would have to be cut and I would really like to see it cross over to Maryland’s Forest Heights, Hillcrest Heights & Suitland.

I don’t doubt. Random only has to do better than this.
I do not think it was unfair last year, regardless still vote for completely random. I also like the idea of keeping ten teams,, but expand their size.
How about we have no late additions or substitutions? Instead, make all the teams the same size before the final calculations. How? Any member that does not ride at least 10 days be considered inactive and eliminated from the final calculations. Then what ever the smallest size team is after those cuts, will be the number of counted team members for all teams. Ex: Team B is the smallest with 13 active members, then all the teams final points are just calculated from their 13 best performing members.

You understand that politics is the art of the possible?
Correct and I know this is not possible. I know what will happen and what is politically possible: Some sort of solution done in parts, just as expensive, will not solve all the problems & cause some new ones and none of it will be sustainable, green nor make even a majority happy.

ParticipantAs someone that bikes, drives or buses Columbia Pike from Walter Reed into town every weekday morning, I was not looking forward to the street car construction regardless of which mode I was using. It is a mess right now and IMO there is only one way to really fix it and it will cost a lot more than $333 million.
All the businesses, apartments and older houses too close to the road have to taken via eminent domain and razed. (Yes that includes the Arlington Draft House) Then a well thought out corridor with dedicated bus & light rail lanes, bike lanes, proper sidewalks and car lanes be made.
