.My dyno light is permanently mounted on my bicycle and would require a tool kit and removal of the front brake to steal. Besides, the only person who would want it is someone else with a dyno hub. Mine stays on year round and has been locked up in garages, on streets, at happy hours, and everywhere.
Do not assume thieves act logically. some one may try to steal your light with no idea what a dynamo hub is.

I knew it was the cyclists fault! Damn cyclists! Why cant they keep their bikes out of the subway tunnels!
Five fare hikes in 10 years, 59% increase in fares – and this is the result
And the solution is another fare hike????
Are these guys for real???
I remember a Metro spokeperson stating that each rider cost the Metro system money since the fares were too low to cover the cost of moving the person. So shouldn’t they be doing better as ridership drops?

“70 minutes of exercise for the price of 30”.
I need to keep that or something similar in mind to lessen the attraction of driving. Trading 45 mins of driving to gain 75 mins of exercising.

Stuff it, metro.
One metro ride last week ended my idea of riding it this winter.

but Hyattsville CX is still on?
An email came out Friday morning stating the determination will be made today. Full text below. I also wonder about the Pyscho CX race on Saturday.
I’m sure everyone is wondering what’s going to happen with the race this Sunday. This is just to advise all concerned that we are closely monitoring both the current weather conditions and the forecast as well as the course conditions. We will be doing a course walk-through with the City of Hyattsville tomorrow morning to make a final assessment. You can expect a go/no-go decision tomorrow afternoon.Rest assured that if Sunday is a no-go, the race will be rescheduled to a later date.
Thanks for your patience as we work to determine the best course of action under very indeterminate circumstances.

Hyattsville CXBTW, the rain today, tonight, and Saturday morning has nothing to do with any hurricane. NOAA statement on that below. This is a bad thing, the area is getting pre-soaked by this cold front and then MIGHT get a second soaking from the hurricane or remnants of the hurricane.
TODAY AND TONIGHTHEAVY RAINFALL IS LIKELY TODAY INTO TONIGHT. THIS RAINFALL IS NOT

I’m planning to do some laps at Hanes Point tonight.
Small chance I may come down late, but suspect I will wimp out.

btj: People have asked me for your real name as my plagiarism did get shared around a bit.

Here are pics of what the temporary detours look like as of this morning (9/29). There’s also one up the hill that looks even more treacherous. The thick wood chip surface and narrow width should make passing through this area problematic.

They made me happy I have switched to using my CX bike for commuting to squeeze in practice loops at the Anacostia River Park and Gravelly Point CX courses.

ParticipantBased on my first few dark and dim rides this fall, I think many people are acting better with their lights. I am hopeful this trend will continue. I think people imitating others is the primary driver, not the dramatic reaction folks. Of course, in a short time when 4,000 LUM & 6 hour run-time lights with broad uniform patters are $25, what will it matter.
