Rockford has asked me to represent her in this transaction. I’m pretty sure she could use the 105 levers, which would be a great upgrade for her. She’s running 2×10 Tiagra now; would they work for her? I’ll be jealous if she’s able to clean up her cables up front and I’m still stuck with shift cables in front of my headlight. :p
Sweet, the levers are hers.

ParticipantEric Williams, I need to meet up with you some day to give you your prize. I may not make it tonight to the HH, and did not have time to go get it.
Also BTW, you too can pick anything out of my free box after Rockford10.

ParticipantHey. I had hopes to make it to the happy hour on time, but I cannot. I may not make it at all.
MY primary prize for Rockford10, Eminva, Noodles and JonRobot are dibbs on anything in my free box. I took photos of everything except one item, nearly new Shimano 105 10 speed 5700 STI levers. Here is the link to the Google album showing the stuff. Ask any questions about the items:

ParticipantCount me in, but late. Between having to work a little late and the nuclear summit mess, I expect it to be pretty late. Oh, and I have not had time to realy make/think about prized for the N-1 nor most single ride states yet.

ParticipantRegarding Hazard Mills Road, the portion near the lower terminus of the Millford Gap trail, is undistributed bordered on both sides by a single land owner who does not consider the road open to the public. I totally understand their right to this, and as an agronomist, understand how visitors can cost poultry operations hundreds of thousands of dollars if they spread disease. If I owned that operation, I would want the road closed.
The claims the portion of Hazard Mills near Indian Hollow Road is private may not be valid, but I see no reason to challenge this. Why risk trouble when that road goes no where and there are other roads to ride nearby? Better to be happy than right, and go ride something like Jawbone.

As for Metro rejecting the plan, well, both Metro and CaBi are funded/owned by the same groups, namely the local governments.
Regardless, they still are competitors for the funding stream from these sources, not remarkably than say how Booze Allen and Dewberry are funded by the Federal Gov.
I also fear that a too close of a relationship between CaBi and DC Metro, the horrid work culture and mismanagement of Metro will infect CaBi.

ParticipantYes. Let me boot up my laptop. I know a Dutch guy that has a great interface. You specify the tiles via a map interface you want, then he generates them and sends you a link to a downloads blessed file to use on your Garmin SD card. Hmmm, can your unit take SD cards?

ParticipantBased on your first seven sentances/phrases, I think this is a great idea. I have no idea what else you state as your post is insanely too long. When advocating, always keep to three related points and no more than six sentances/phrases.
One problem, metro and bike share see each other as the enemy.

ParticipantI field checked Page Valley Road and Habron Gap and Indian Grave trails. Without a doubt, the access to all three is 100% fine. There are no access issues along the road the whole way to the parking area at the bottom of Indian Grave trail head. (photo below)
The road is very public, lots of cabin rentals, small hotels/resorts, a few artists shops and industry aimed at the paddling and angling community. You just won’t be o’kay here, but welcomed, as the valley seems to be building as a tourist spot. If you do ride it, the gravel on the northern end is big and loose. Annoying, large, loose and recently re-gravelled.

ParticipantI was hoping to use my coupon and dividend to get a BOB Ibex trailer. Unfortunately it seems they do not sell the version for use with 29ers, the Ibex 28

ParticipantI have gotten a good amount on info from various sources. Still waiting on a few call backs as well. Plan to post an update summarizing what all I have pieced together.
Tersely, Hazard Mills Road is private down by the chicken farms at the end of Milford Gap Trail. Page Valley is public up to Indian Grave Trail.

ParticipantVery glad he mentioned the Warren County GIS work. They have a web map vierer, http://warrengis.org/Flex/index.html, that shows all of the parcel data for the area around Millford Gap trail and Hazard Mills Road. As a guy that worked with GIS outreach in VA to small municipalities back in the late 90’s, I am so thrilled to see this. Even if it is in ESRI’s Flex Viewer.
It does show many of the parcels encompassing the start of Hazard Mills are US Gov. There is a small one on one side at the beginning with Indian Head Road (Culler’s Farm) and not one for a while down the road (Palmer) however that one does include both side of the road. As I suspected, many of the farms closer to Indian Head are leasing their land form the US Gov, and do not own the land, nor really have rights to bar access on established throughways. Palmer may have a case, however, not if those throughways were established before their parcels were set.
I plan to see if there is a download or source for the parcel data, there should be since they are offering it as a REST service.
I will also look for Page county parcel data later.
