That was an amazing year. It felt like most of the teams clicked and the social aspect was pretty damned ridiculous. Kudos to the team assignment czar for that one! ;)

    That was a fun year!

Hi I’m Matt! First FS was in 2016. Took 2019 off as I didn’t have the motivation to really put in miles. Looking to start a new ride streak in 2020 and break my previous longest of 838 days. Hoping to use FS as motivation to put in some long rides, need the base miles for some big gravel events I plan to ride in 2020. I’m often in neon pink and green as a member of the Team BikenetiCult.

I’ll be there, giving out my pointless prize for elevation per mile as well.

Anyone on the team want to meet up for a HH sometime this upcoming week? Weather has been so crappy on the weekends we haven’t been able to get any team rides in…

Also our team has both the first and last place rider in Freeze Points! Will does have an excuse as he IS riding in the summer (but he did invent the Freeze Points metric)!

You can look at the Strava Club leaderboard (although a lot of extra people are part of it). You can also click on the “People” tab on the FS Website, then click on “People” and you can sort by mileage this week. FS Website uses Sun-Sat for the week, Strava Uses Mon-Sun.

I’m always down with Caboose. Pretty much down for wherever works for the most people. Some places may take me a little longer to get to coming from Clifton.

Got some extra miles in this am! Know at least one person doing a century today though so I’ll have to hope for some snow to win this!

Swamp coffee addition! Hit Sleven on my ride in and grabbed a large Colombian. Transferred to my Hydro Flask after the picture so I could “enjoy” it at work. Full-Squish commuter at the moment as my curly bar bikes are all broken…

Apologies if I may have come across as a pompous ass in some of last nights posts.

Football + a few too many drinks = dumb posts.

I think I’ll just stick to riding my bike in the future.

I think I should have a breathalyzer to unlock my computer and phone sometimes…

Oh wow, I lead something? That’s unexpected! I live in a hilly area and lets face it, climbing is a good way to stay warm. I also am a member of DC Randonneurs that can help sometimes, for instance there is a DCR ride on Saturday, which should add some climbing, all are welcome to join. 67 miles and starts in Glen Echo.

Your team also has an impressive 8.5 ft/mi lead over any other team in FS. Quite a few climbers on 18.

My biggest problem with my new Garmin is on short rolling hills where you fly down one and fly up the other. It screws me pretty much every time. And there is nothing I can do about it. It’s just about perfect for long, gradual climbs.

Agreed, it can’t keep up with rollers at all! What I don’t get is that it can tell me my altitude in close to real time, but not convert that to ascent/descent. I put all 3 on one screen and track actual ascent/descent in my head sometimes and watch it slowly try to catch up. My favorite is how I can have different ascent and descent #’s when I have ridden a loop.

Probably gonna ride gravel on Saturday with some Bikenetic peeps, all are welcome. Sunyata is leading the ride, starts at 10am from Rust Library in Leesburg. 38.8 mile ride, 2500′ of climbing, expect a 13-15mph pace. Finish at a brewery as yet TBD although I’m out for that part (stupid dry January…).

Link to the route, although no winery stop, brewery at the end instead.
