ParticipantAh, I was wondering what the re-appearance of the scare-o-sign was from. Thanks.

ParticipantIf I weren’t bringing my wife and towing my daughter in the Burley I’d totally be volunteering, Rosslyn was a party last year!

It’s official! We took the the first place “medium” size category and took second place overall!
Good job team!!
Thanks Rod and Dana for organizing everything.
We should do some sort of Victory Lap around Hains Point or something like that to commemorate the challenge.

ParticipantDid the full century at the Northern Neck River Ride this Saturday. One of those days where the wind really was in your face the entire ride. Lots of harvested corn fields and yet to be harvested soy, and nicely stocked rest stops, that took you to the really interesting historical parts of the lower Northern Neck.

As a side note: the trail is way too narrow along that section.

ParticipantSeems like half my rides now a days involve coffee as a stop. Will there be teams?

ParticipantSeeing the carnage on the way back from Purcelleville, I couldn’t help wonder if the recent clearing and cutting back of the foliage around the W&OD might have also included some sort of chemical spray that caused the moles and such to vacate the underbrush?

Or, you know, bike to work…
That was my comment to my wife when I heard the story on WTOP yesterday. I think I might just have to go ride in to the district after hump-day coffee club just to investigate/document.

ParticipantI’d expect that bikeleague.org would have the 2012 numbers for cyclist deaths.
National Highway Trafic and Saftey Admin: http://www-nrd.nhtsa.dot.gov/cats/listpublications.aspx?Id=A&ShowBy=DocType
Though the latest is 2011.I don’t think the NHTSA site has any reports of cyclist fatalities that didn’t include an auto though. The Bike League might have a listing of all deaths that involved a bicyclist.
