ParticipantAny idea when the Custis section near Washington Blvd will get resurfaced? Or at least have the bumps ground down?

ParticipantBig Pink rocks.
Y’all rock.
It’s all good.
Except when it isn’t (but that’s another story).
My Surly is in the low 20’s, my Special Ed is 17.5 lbs. I sometimes actually feel faster on the Surly just because of the gearing. And, the Surly is frankly indestructible, which makes for a different ride in and of itself.
vvill—pull the trigger! Bet we’ve got enough parts between us to set you up.OneEighth

Yup. Really glad we got a chance to ride a bit. Will definitely need to do more of that.
Awesome to see the Cinelli up close. Sweet. And the shorter drop bars have got me thinking…but that’ll pass.OneEighth

Or some yoga/stretches…you gotta be limber to run with a bar drop like that! I think OneEighth must be part Gumby.

ParticipantI didn’t see anyone when I rode home between 2200 and 2300 this evening. But the moon was lovely.

Participantdcv, there’s something wrong with the bike in your photos. The pedals don’t move when the wheel does…

ParticipantLike everything else, this becomes a question of figuring out what works best for you.
I use Time pedals and keep them as tightly tensioned as I can so that my feet stay put while accelerating or climbing. Far, far worse things can happen if I come off the pedal while climbing or sprinting than if I tip over while almost at a stop.November 16, 2012 at 11:22 am in reply to: BikeArlington Lights For Bikes Event – Call For Volunteers! #955652OneEighth
ParticipantGreat to see y’all again—looked like you got plenty of takers. Hopefully most of them will remember to stay lit/reflective.
Wish I could have stuck around.
@Steve-nice riding with you. Sure we’ll see each other out there again.OneEighth
ParticipantI’ve actually been pretty happy when I have stayed clipped in during a crash—the bike usually doesn’t end up smacking the pavement because I’m cushioning it. I heal.
That’s not helpful, is it…OneEighth
ParticipantTwitchiness makes riding fun.

You saw a white steel bike w/ mustache bars, didn’t you?
Not sure it was white, but definitely moustache bars.

ParticipantMy bad.
Recover so you can share in the next thing that comes home with the little one. -
