I just went back up and crossed at street / grade. This underpass on the WOD floods a lot and there’s a fork in the trail about fifty feet back that goes up to the street. The water was deep and moving fast, would’ve been swept out to the Potomac.

    Sissy.

As a former sweep rower, I respond well to yelling.
    Definitely yell next time.

Let’s go over the groundrules. Rule number 1: No touching of the hair or face… AND THAT’S IT!!!

Or the hair on the face (as appropriate).

So, it’s starting to sound like what’s needed here is something out of a 50’s or 60’s B-movie, where the contestants all line up at the bottom of the hill, one foot down, waiting for Honeybadger6 to wave a scarf to signal the start, and then everyone races up the hill to the curb cut for the church parking lot.
    What could possibly go wrong?

Were you guys all riding in 1972, or is that a cool filter on your camera? Fraction Man’s stache certainly contributes to the context!

Not enough scratchy wool for 1972. And the soles of my shoes are not leather covered wood (though I had a sweet pair a Duegi’s like that back in the day…) Great to catch up with dbb and to ride in with americancyclo and TwoWheelsDC. Many thanks also to the awesome folks who staffed the pitstop!

Just popped up 11th on my way to being sighted by DismalScientist. Not sure why y’all don’t just start from a stop at the stop.

    Hang on.
3 months sounds a bit extreme.
My collarbone surgery involved putting things back together with a roughly 5″ bolt down the middle and sutures wrapped around the broken area to hold some of the stray bits close. I was commuting and carrying a backpack within a month or so, no worries.
    Good luck.

Probably not me, although I was there around 5:00 yesterday afternoon…. I was wearing a red and black kit on my celest Bianchi… yeah yeah, I know… I must be color blind as well!

    Demerits.

I approve of your choices in cycling cap and arm warmers. Same ones I was wearing this morning.

To tangent: The TRON: Legacy soundtrack (ft. Daft Punk) is killer to ride to (for those who, like me, sometimes put 1 — only 1 — earbud in during workouts).

Wouldn’t be caught dead in green shoes or a blue jersey… Though I will concede that dude’s socks appear to compliment his jersey and his shoes (yellow accent).

Sighting-rich ride home. Dismal at Gravelly Point. Not sure who shouted my name moments (red kit and bike?) later by the edge of the airport (I was focused on the Cabi rider in front of you—the guy with the red-going-to-grey beard whom I usually see commuting on a Cabi standing in the pedals). Shawnofthedread just before the Custis intersection with the W&OD—red ‘stache and all.

    But no Consularrider. Bummer.
