ParticipantRode over 3 Miles of Fairfax sidewalks at 7 MPH, and it was easy with 25 mm slicks, so the W&OD should be easy if yoy give it extra time.

ParticipantToday is impatient driver alert day. It’s not 4 yet, and traffic is already slow. Link to Google Traffic Map.

Ooh! This is good information to have. I am going to have to ride my bike out to Tyson’s at some point in the near future to test drive some bicycle-carriers (that is a really odd statement…). Thanks for posting!

So why did ELITE get removed? Not only was it a popular thing to do, but its removal has left us with an annoying broken graphic everywhere.
There was a forum upgrade few months ago that broke add-ons. I kind of like that with the upgrade, when I click on “New Posts” at the top left, posts that I haven’t clicked on from previous visits to the forum would show up. Before the update, if I log on, then log off, anything new that I was too busy to click on is gone. Now I can come back later and read posts that I have missed. “New Posts” lets you see all posts from all sub forums in one place.

ParticipantVienna location was advertizing 70% yesterday, 80% today, and probably 90% tomorrow. I was there around 3 PM. Here is a gallery of everything left:
https://postimg.cc/gallery/1ci6frft4/
Some highlights:
– Spokes are $5/Box, all seem to be DT Swiss brand, Spoke nibbles too.
– Saddles are $5 each.
– Square Tapper Bottom brackets that are left are odd size, Italian 70mm. They seem to have few Octalink, not sure if they have any ISIS Drive.
– Various wrenches at $2 each.
– Cardboard shipping boxes are $8 each. They open tomorrow from 12 to 5.

ParticipantI visited Vienna and Reston locations yesterday. Vienna location is closing tomorrow(and I assume Gaithersburg location as well). All the bikes at Vienna location are gone, except one, a kid bike. Two weeks before closing, they hauled away most of the good bikes, perhaps to a third party, etc. Reston location is not closing for another 4 weeks(and perhaps Springfield/Rockville as well), and my guess is that they would remove/sell the good bikes in about 2 weeks, if the pattern holds. From visiting Vienna location often, most of the good stuff is sold on weekends. If you want to get a bike that is common size, I suggest that you don’t wait more than next weekend. Good bikes will only drop 10% further if you wait. I am visiting Vienna location again today, so if you want to know if they have a part that you want, please let me know.

The two bikes in this image, are Fuji Absolute 1.1 2018, sizes 15/21/23 available. They are flat bar with 2×11 speed drive train, I almost bought one, but my size 17″ wasn’t available. Please view the full size of these over WiFi. Total size of all images is 341 MB. If you plan to get to the Vienna location from the W&OD, try the new Vesper Street Trail at Tysons.

I mean, you dropped in to this thread to imply that LSG’s prize designed to encourage people to make use of the change in Metro’s policy was going to ruin that advocacy win, but want to be left out of it when he says you’re yelling at clouds?
I don’t see anything in the structure of the prize that encourages poor behavior. Most of the folks playing Freezing Saddles are upstanding citizens that will ride metro courteously with their bikes. From an advocacy stand point high utilization will create the opportunity to advocate for dedicated space for bikes on Metro like some other light rail systems have such as the St. Paul, MN system:
Some might read the OP(both in and outside the forum) and subsequent posts and see it as a challenge for who rides the most crowded train.

ParticipantRockville location has one Garmin Edge 1000 left(as of yesterday). Reston location as of Tuesday, had several Garmin: 130(sold out), 500(sold out), 510(x1), 820(x2), Garmin Vector 2 Power Meter Pedals – Standard (12-15mm), one left. Vienna location Garmin/Wahoo stuff gone the weekend after reaching 30%. I took photos, but not for everything. I don’t remember, but I think they have few Garmin left, possibly Wahoo, I am not sure. It’s best to call. They open 12-5 PM today.

ParticipantIn the last week, I visited 5 locations, generally the ones further away from major trails have the bigger discounts. Here are the locations I visited, and when:
Springfield, VA(Friday 1/4): 30-50%
Vienna, VA(Monday 12/31): 50-70%
Reston, VA(Sunday 1/6): 30-50%
Gaithersburg, MD(Yesterday 1/5): 50-70%
Rockville, MD(Yesterday 1/5): 30-50%I think I am going to visit Reston and Vienna locations again today, and update this listing.

ParticipantTry WMATA Contact Metro form, not Twitter or station managers. I had better luck with them in the past. Station managers can’t change policy, and it seems they don’t forward such issues to the management. Make sure that you mention how it’s different for women, and how station managers interpret the rules. The management might issue an update to station managers that help people in your situation.
Also, regarding Asthma, you might want check the Mucus-less diet, which helps makes the mucus more water-like(less viscous) and less dense as opposed to honey-like. Check this link, and scroll to the food list. Basically, the more you avoid red meat and diary, the thinner your mucus and your blood will be, you would have less congestion, breath easier, and your blood pressure would get lower since it’s easier for the heart to pump thinner fluids. I have tried it loosely for a time and it worked for me.

I was at Vienna location last Friday, the store seemed full of stuff, including clothing and bikes. It seems that the best deals would be after Christmas. Breakdown:
30% Garmin/GoPro. Left(Prices are after the discount): 3x Garmin Edge 130($140), 1x Garmin Vivoactive HR – GPS Smartwatch($175), 2x GoPro Hero 5 Black($210).
30% Oakley sunglasses.
40% Men’s clothing, Socks, and Gloves. I have no idea if this is different from their normal sales as I don’t usually buy cycling clothes.
50% Women’s clothing, Women Socks/Gloves at 40%.
50% Wheels.
40% Tires/Tubes.
30% Shimano components.
40% All other stuff: Water bottles/Cages, Shoes, Helmets, Pedals, Lights(limited number left), Pumps, Racks, Fenders, Panniers, Saddles, Bike Storage, Trainers, Bike tools, Handlebars/Grips/Tapes.Bikes are at 20-35% from MSRP, which is not much different from their normal sales.
Update: Vienna location is now advertising 50% off everything including Garmin/GoPro, with the exception of women cloths(60%), Bikes(30%), E-Bikes(40%). They seem to have full set of bikes. GoPro cameras sold out, but the 3 overpriced Garmin Edge 130($199 Original price, SKU: 406228) are still there. All Continental tires sold out, or taken off the shelves. I noticed that GatorSkin is not available online either. They still have a lot of cloths left, but it seems to have gone down a bit.

ParticipantIn Google Maps, you can type a county or city name, and see its boundaries. Here is Montgomery County boundary.
They have both Montgomery County and Washington, DC listed in their location page, so it’s their fault if the supported area is smaller.
