I haven’t heard anything further about this, but would love to see a cycletrack on 17th Street NW. Like 15th Street NW, it’s one-way and has low traffic volume. Converting a lane to cycling infrastructure would be NBD.

Agree, the trail is not great there – I prefer riding on Oregon Ave.

I’d only been in the Arlington location a few times, and they always treated me well. Then again I was there with a friend who bought a Pinarello, so who knows. I never did the Tuesday night ride, but tried the route a few times, and it is a fun, hilly, fast course on smooth roads. It’s always sad when a bike shop closes, and hope the employees find new jobs, but I’m glad Conte’s has expanded in the area recently.
