ParticipantThat looks awesome. If I didn’t have to play in two hockey games on Sunday I would be in. I will check out the GPS route for later personal use.

ParticipantNice idea. Would love to join, but I have a work HH. Maybe next week.

ParticipantThe cycling infrastructure in the Netherlands is truly on another level. From small towns to the larger cities there are dedicated, well maintained bike lanes everywhere. Granted they have the right terrain and temperature for it, but it is also a cultural mindset. Some US cities are slowly starting to adapt and the residents in many areas are starting to come around. We may never fully get to the level of the Netherlands, but we can certainly use them as an example and strive towards what they have.

ParticipantWas a good ride, that loop is great for training. I will certainly be joining again.

Those are nasty, the weaving you have to do to avoid possible flats makes you look like a drunken monkey.
Hope they move on to the rollers up by Lee and 66 by the pedestrian overpass near Mccoy park.
The roots are always cringe worthy, but the rollers sneak up on you. I was behind a guy who almost ate some pavement because he didn’t see them coming while he was riding with no hands. Hit the first one and had a total “OH %&$#!” moment.

So what’d you guys get up to during the forum downtime?
I forced myself to do some packing for our upcoming move to Dunn Loring/Merrifield. Without distractions I’m actually productive.

Don’t forget the Freshbikes Mosaic ride tonight. I’m doing a pre-ride tonight too if you’re off work early. It is a lovely loop to the south of the shop thanks to Fairfax County completing a few roads behind Fairfax Innova hospital.
Pre-ride meets between 4 and 4:15pm at the Freshbikes Mosaic shop. Wheels rolling at 4:30 for a 16-mile loop of rolling hills.
Main ride meets between 6 and 6:15pm at the Freshbikes Mosaic shop. Wheels rolling at 6:30 for a 14.5 mile loop with an option to make it 19 miles. We usually get a beer at Lost Dog Cafe around the corner after the ride.
Hope you can make it to the ride tonight!
Pete
I’m not able to do the ride tonight, but do you have a GPS map of some sort for the pre-ride loop? Would love to have it for some other time.

Oh lord, he’s bringing in the wife as reinforcement. How sad. Must be a British thing.
They get nervous hanging out around too many “colonials” without backup.

ParticipantI spoke too soon, looks like I won’t be able to make it. Work obligations and whatnot. Maybe next time.

ParticipantI may have to get on board with this one. I’m moving out to Dunn Loring in two weeks (about a half block from Lost Dog) so I could easily do this ride, and I’m getting bored of the trail. I play hockey on Wednesdays so the other Freshbikes Mosaic ride would never work. Thanks for posting this.

ParticipantAwesome story! Great that the police were able to assist, which hopefully leads to the recovery of the other bikes.
