ParticipantI went for a ride during lunch. I was able to ride down the closed section of Independence Ave and Constitution Ave west of 14th street with no problem until I hit the area west of the MLK memorial, there is a fence with a guard that would not let me pass. Was a nice ride, there were no cars allowed. Park ranger told me that today only, bikes were allowed on this section.

Not exactly the same area, but does anyone have insight into how street closures around the Lincoln Memorial tomorrow will affect us? https://inauguration.dc.gov/node/1210150
Typically I come over the 14th Street Bridge, then up Ohio to the RCP Trail. I’m trying to figure out if there will still be access to the trail that goes along Ohio or if the whole thing will be closed off. I’d rather just ride up to the Roosevelt or Key Bridge if it’s the latter.
Acording to the map above ohio drive will be closed between there.

According to this, the red zone closures start at 3:00 am Thursday and will be fully in place by 3:00 am Friday: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dr-gridlock/wp/2017/01/16/5-top-concerns-about-inauguration-week-travel/?utm_term=.8e8afc567310
What’s not clear is what streets close when, they only list a few of the timing here: https://inauguration.dc.gov/node/1212031 Typically I do take independence ave.. so I guess i’ll find out tomorrow morning…
Edit: Also according to this bicycles are permitted inside the red zone until 3am Friday morning: https://inauguration.dc.gov/node/1210112 (unless the road is closed of course)

ParticipantI took a look at MVT today. It is clear for the most part, bridges still have snow. I did not run into any packed ice. This is what it looks like:
