ParticipantJust FYI, this lack of a reset time varies by city. Found myself surprised (and annoyed) by a reset time in MontrĂ©al. And since I’m complaining about MontrĂ©al, their CaBis have shorter seatposts, too.

ParticipantMe, Megabeth, Dave, Tim and some others are rolling tonight, but will probably roll early – 6:30. Welcome to join. Either way, watch for all the pavement work on Quincy. If I were rolling with the big group on that, I’d stay at the very front or very very back.

ParticipantSaw that guy pull the plug at RS3. Immediately inspired me & Culimerc to get back on the bike and get moving. (DK, that’s the jersey I was talking about.)

ParticipantFrom Cyclocosm.com, while watching today’s stage, on Ttwitter:
“Current feed has ads for CorsetDeal-dot-com. More relevant than Michelob Ultra, quite frankly.”
Approve.

When I rode by the TR barrier clusterf%&*ck yesterday (Westbound towards Rosslyn), there was a (temporary?) posted sign with a 15mph speed limit. There was also a tent with NPS officers there. I would have stopped but was late to get home. Anyone else stop?
I didn’t see the sign when I rode by eastbound this morning but I could have just not been paying enough attention.
Is there any legal justification for the sign? Could someone point me to the VA / NPS code that sets the trail speed limit at 15mph?
I know that on the CCT, in MD, the speed is officially codified at 15mph (although not in DC, IIRC). I didn’t realize that VA had implemented the same for the MVT.
…Now that I’m a VA bike commuter and all…
Next time stop and ask them how many crashes with injuries due to speeding they have right there. Then, when they can’t answer that, tell him to go down to Memorial Circle where there’s plenty of good they could do.

Look for me and Meg on TV while watching stages 4 and 5! We’ll be back for the later stages, so I’m up for a viewing party or three.
Sweeeet.
I’d like a Vini Farnese bottle, please. I’m sure they’ll be hard to find, though.

ParticipantGo on, then, Dickie, post up your roster so we can pick it apart

Dasgeh – If you wanted to move it to South Arlington, P. Brennan’s appears to be cycling friendly, and it doesn’t get much more bike-friendly than the folks across the street from there (Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse – thinking of the bar attached to it).

ParticipantThanks to you, Nikki, and everyone else involved in making that happen.
I look forward to More Like This.

ParticipantI’m in for another T200. Thirding/fourthing advice to go for two bottles. Support is pretty great, but it’s good to have a margin built in. If it’s an especially hot day, I’d recommend making one of the bottles insulated. Ice + drink = incredibly helpful on such a long hot day.
Looks like an interesting ride, Culimerc. I’d be up for that, if I weren’t going on a ride the day before.

ParticipantThis is something Arlington should note. It wasn’t so many years ago that Arlington was, by far, the best biking jurisdiction in the Washington area. And look at things today – the District is where it’s at, from cycletracks to MUT expansion to improving the law/enforcement.

ParticipantWait. You had a chance to video a peloton of cops blowing a stop sign and . . . .

ParticipantOh, good. I thought it had been too long since we’ve had this conversation.
Speaking of, I walked down the sidewalk in Rosslyn the other day. None of the other pedestrians called their passes! And they were everywhere!

Today is your last chance to join the National Bike Challenge and get credit for your May miles! You can join tomorrow but your May miles expire at midnight. I’ve reached out to some of the Freezing Saddles riders and each has signed on (with a little resistance in some cases) except for DaveK who is not going to be on the winning team unless he acts soon. Maybe I should have invited more people but I didn’t want to be a pest. Steve Claeys, Brad Hancock, Steve Offutt, Ken Buja, John Zanner, KEVIN ULRICH, Mike Collins, Kevin Obenland, Sean Chisham, Steve Appel, Randy Napiza, MARK BLACKWELL, Michael Jolley, Crystal Bee, etc. consider yourselves invited. Or sit on the sideline with DaveK. The team is strong. I don’t think we need more riders to win, but you’re all welcome to be a part of our success and if you don’t join and we don’t win, it’s your fault!
Oh, if I’d seen *this*, I’d have just gone to bed instead of dicking around with EndoWORST-UI-IN-THE-Mondo.
That’s B-L-A-C-K, N as in Night, E-L-L.
But yes, contributed ~800 points last night. If I can keep up with Bilsko, I’m doin’ alright.
