ParticipantHains closure is an annual thing. Give up on it until the end of this week or so.

ParticipantSonoma (another enthusiast owner) typically does something for the Queen Stage. We’ll get something going in the area. Last year we tried to get something going over Paris-Roubaix, with limited success (to put it generously). Would love to see something come together this year.

Re: feeds – best not to overthink it, perhaps. For some of us in the US, live is a must. Thankfully, there’s http://tourdefrance.nbcsports.com/. It’s subscription, and it’s good to support cycling by making this model work. On the other hand, well, there’s the matter of US commentary (and that’s not even getting into Phil and Paul). There are (far) better commentators out there. Some people have been known to run that audio over NBCSports.com (nee UniversalSports.com) feeds.

Do I have my rose-colored glasses on or is the final draft expansion plan essentially my suggestion + a route up the Glebe Corridor?
No. Those are your mirrored-glasses.

I suspected that someone in DOD said no and told CaBi to remove even those suggested pins on the crowdsourcing map.
I’d be surprised by that. In any event, it’s my understanding that that’s Metro property, anyway. Sure DOD probably has a practical veto over it, but if they did that, they’d have to explain why they were trying to make life harder for all of their employees (and helping condemn them to eating lunch at the Pentagon every day).

I nominate that area (Clarendon Circle) as the worst intersection in Arlington for all users.
I think I might have posted this here before, but last year our local civic association had a presentation by a couple of older long-time residents about living here since the 30s. The woman told us that even when she was 12 her mother wouldn’t let her walk to school alone because crossing Clarendon Circle was too dangerous. And this was in the early 40s.

It’s good thing that it was only a mount fail. From the video, it looks like you were doing 360 flip and back on the bike.
Yeah, I’d be way more impressed if that were you.
I’ve thought about this http://www.amazon.com/K-EDGE-Handlebar-Mount-GoPro-K13-420/dp/B005YVTJRU
But $60 just seems a bit ridiculous.

You forgot that you always behave perfectly in every circumstance, every day, never having an lapses.
And you expect everyone else to be perfect 100% of the time too.
Practically perfect in every way, one might say.

Someone named “Rootchopper” is asking this question? I detect a wee bit of misdirection . . .

Oh come on, you mean to tell me that Dirt didn’t actually hit 69.9mph coming down that thing?
Despite having no idea how it might have been accomplished, I’m *certain* Dirt hit 69 on purpose. Absolutely.

ParticipantThose interested in this concept of strict liability wrt pedestrians (as advocated by JVNA) may be interested to see that this has been debated in many other countries (with different outcomes). http://www.bikehub.co.uk/news/bike-to-work/strict-liability-too-contentious-says-transport-minister/
