ParticipantThis wormhole would be SO MUCH better with a curb cut onto Oak St.!! There are even 3 bucks who live in here. I haven’t taken the north-south path along the creek in awhile because it was getting so eroded around the concrete platforms. Bumpity bump bump. It’s probably been built back up by now.

I hereby claim the #FHBNA multidimensional wormhole, or literally, the “Fire Hydrant but Not Arms” wormhole (zoom in on the trash can [emoji1005] sign for my inspiration).
The non-descript entry off of South Oak Street in Falls Church VA is identifiable by the fire hydrant, the green R2D2 trash can with the “no fire arms” sign, and the “long fence” sign on the chain link fence around TJ Elementary School.
The East exit through Cavalier Trail Park comes out on S Maple Ave and leads me to 2 local bike shops, FC Distillery, Audacious Aleworks, Target, 2 coffee ☕️ shops or the only bowling alley around town!
The North exit is through Howard E Herman Park and used to lead me to the only brewery in town, Mad Fox (R.I.P.) on Leesburg Pike (Rt 7) or the old Post Office (now a Harris Teeters).
All entrances/exits can reversed to go E, W, N or S (but the later T-bones at the Elementary School, forcing an E or W decision)
I like this wormhole as it allows me to cris-cross Falls Church (west to east or vice versa) w/out having to deal with the hazards of Leesburg Pike, especially if you wan to stay south of that congested artery, and the 3 footbridges that cross over Tripps Run, which bisects the little City of Falls Church.

Participant1/7/21 – Moon
I set out on a simple mission: find something moon-related. Aha. I had a great idea — moon cakes, such a tasty Vietnamese treat. Admittedly, they aren’t in season right now, but we live in an area where everything is available at any time of year, right? My destination: the Eden Center in Falls Church. I entered several bakeries without success. Alas, even the large market didn’t have any available, not even in the freezer.
On my quest, however, I was reminded that there is no shame in walking a bike up a hill; I stopped by a new-to-me park; and discovered an unexpected Civil War marker at the same time.
So my photographic offering this evening is of Eden Center signage itself.

On January 7, 1610, Galileo discovered 3 of the moons of Jupiter. Creative entries encouraged, but if your photo of your “moon” is not apparent, please explain. Happy hunting!
PS – no derrieres. This is a family friendly hunt!

Participant1/5/21 – Birds
Every time I stopped to try to capture a real bird in the wild, including the crow that was chowing down on something in a neighbor’s yard, they would eye me suspiciously and fly away. But I did capture several ‘other’ birds along the way. Since we are limited to one, here’s a holiday-spirited pink flamingo.

ParticipantJust a neighborhood pass through that makes it easy to avoid having to go WAY down the hill to another block to go WAY WAY up a hill just to get to a stoplight to cross Lee Hwy in Falls Church, VA and get on your way.

The Italian Cafe is a landmark of Falls Church. Good food, too. Located on Lee Hwy/South Washington St

1/4/21 – In honor of National Spaghetti Day, take a pic of an Italian restaurant, preferably one you like and/or serves spaghetti. Caveat is that it can’t have “zz” or “Garden” in the name or the sign. Happy hunting!
Also, starting on 1/4 going forward, I’m going to be a hardarse, so please read and follow the rules in the original post. Thanks again for playing

ParticipantFirst post. Hoping to participate in FS. Can’t believe that registration closed yesterday. It’s been a crazy month and I guess I slacked. Oops.
