1/30/21 – Skate Park or Skateboard (found in the wild)

West End Park in Falls Church has a small skateboard park. One guy was there messing around. Turns out it was his first time. I did witness him get his skateboard from the ground to the edge of a bench ever so briefly. Here’s a photo taken just as liftoff is underway.

My tunnel is not big enough for a human but I bet plenty of squirrels or other critters have made their ways through these “tunnels” that are just waiting to be placed into the ground.

The Zig Zag runs along the line that divides the Tinner Hill neighborhood into the City of Falls Church and Fairfax County portions. This art piece, therefore, reveals part of the division that was imposed on the black community of Falls Church in 1887, a gerrymandering that excised the area of town where most African Americans lived and moved them to the much larger Fairfax where their votes would have less power and influence. On Tinner Hill this gerrymandering separated the families into two jurisdictions, with different schools and municipal services.”

I’m sure there will be plenty of memorial(s), including mine. I had set out to capture the sign for the Trammel Branch of Four Mile Run, but the section of WOD where the sign is located is still blocked off. I had hoped that maybe I really had seen the sign a little farther down.
