Asheville is full of public art, especially in the riverside part of town where I’m staying. I’m partial to industrial art, so this fence decor caught my eye in the Riverside Industrial Historic part of town.

This community project was an initiative by the Multicultural OutReach Effort organization to celebrate diversity and promote cultural and racial harmony through creative, artistic expression. Various pieces and fragments of different materials, colors, textures and cultures have been combined by hundreds of community volunteers to create this beautiful and unified mosaic mural.

“Velo Love” is one of 300+ LOVEworks in Virginia. It was constructed by Mike Clay, an artist and metal fabricator from Lovettsville. It is composed of recycled bicycle parts donated by local bicycle shops.

It is located at the intersection of W&OD trail and Harrison St on Leesburg.

1/26/23 Vietnam War Ends

This plaque on the Leesburg County Courthouse grounds marks a Vietnam Memorial time capsule that was buried on Veterans Day 1988. The time capsule is to be opened on Veterans Day 2088.

And yes, I DRIVE to car dealers every day. I don’t ride my bike to them. So none of my pics are from working hours. [emoji6]

You just have to know what you’re looking for and yellow (gold) Beetles magically appear like this one. Don’t you live down the street from a VW dealer?
