Participant2/23/23 – Thankful Thursday
I’m so thankful to have KBikeVA as a riding buddy, friend and partner in mischief. Now I just have to hear her tutelage regarding proper use of the phone camera.

Participant2/20-Manic Monday & the 80’s
The 80’s, missed them raising kids. I can sing Sesame Street songs, play Zelda, but I don’t have adult references to that decade, so here’s the 80’s, my experience with elementary school.

ParticipantMy sons and dad were real Calvin & Hobbes folk, reading all the books, laughing at their deeds and tricks. The giggles from the bedroom were mischievous so that has always been my impression of C&H. I battled the wind, some rain spritzes and hopped the fence to get under the bridge to nowhere to capture this troll by Mary LaRue Wells, 1990, having just hidden the calvinball in the muck.
The troll on the rope swing captures the visage of Walter Webdale, former head of the Fairfax County Housing Authority and former president of AHC Housing in Arlington, Virginia, who commissioned this work as a way to add amusement to a utilitarian footbridge.

ParticipantWell we’ve had infinite love and tremendous distance, so I’ll appeal to the judges. You guys are the best, the most on top of the pointless prize that this plate screamed Serdar & Janet!!! YOU take the cake, you win the prize for being the best judges in Freezing Saddles 2023.

ParticipantWhen riding the paths of Reston, I find this little library village, so delightful: picnic tables for squirrels, figures for folks to play with, and a whimsical library complete with pigs inside.

ParticipantSaber was great help to me @ Home Depot, I returned a defective light bulb and said for a good review he had to be in my picture. 9 am is the perfect time for the HO as not many customers and lots standing around the return desk. Suet for the birds in the basket and off to Trader Joe’s for flowers & cucumbers. No, you don’t get to see the full basket. That was my mission and it was completed!
