3/19/21 – Freezing Saddles 5 letter word (or longer) subanagram

While KBikeVA & I are submitting the same photo today, I am choosing not to take the easy way out and just copy her words, though I have been known to copy thought out word of others, but I’ll go it alone. This is my second year of the Saddles and I never really embraced the pointless prizes until this year. Having a riding partner has been a tremendous help, most of the time. As we are unique individuals it has been two photos, two parks, two arts while sharing the coffee stop. I couldn’t have done two coffee stops a day for many reasons. The photo shows the “Garden” and the “Island”.

We have become such good biking buddies that I’m patching out to NJ for a rest & a pizza. It was fun to meet folks on the Reston Art rides and online, such an interesting crew.

Thank you to dreverl & JoM for tallying this. (There must be an app for it). Enjoy the FSLNHHP and remember clockwise is the only way it works.

3/18/21 – Blue US Postal Service Collection Box (or if not in the U.S., the equivalent) with your bike leaning against it

I hereby give you the local resource center: the required mail drop and a poop collection station. What could be more handy than to drop off a letter late in the afternoon for a 3: the 40 pick up and pick up a bag and walk your dog? Perfect life in the suburbs.

This panda is part of DC art project under Tony Williams’ mayoral time. Fun fact, we share the same birthdate month, day, and YEAR! What a phenomenal coincidence! Enjoy my China Doll!

3/13/21 – Black Cat, Ladder, or Umbrella

So it was about noon before I realized it wasn’t Friday. Thank you, Drevil thought I’d gained a day.

Here is my Black Lives ladder, oops, no my Black Lives Matter ladder. Thanks KBikeVA for the adventure.

As a Restonian since 1978, I hereby submit my Youth Poet Laureate photo of Amanda Gorman for consideration of 3 pointless points for traveling outside Reston for Art. Let’s see, second time this week in DC. I’m trying to break the stereotype that Reston folks only leave Reston by car.

    3/12/21 – Flower

Took an insurance picture at my favorite corner: snow drops and crocuses, lovely patch across from the school near the house, but it was too close to my home, so I soldier on to find these lovely flowers in Oakton. Enjoy!

    3/11/21 – Face (using Pareidolia)

I present knotty-eyed adult. S/he is a wry one with one open eye, a slight nose and a sideway smoothie mouth.

    3/10/21-Phone Party

I desperately need the 2 points. This is a wireless landline @GreenLizardCycling. If it must be hard wired from wall to earpiece, please allow the backup store shot. Too bad I can’t use it for the coffee snob ride as I’ve already done so. Do I sound earnestly pathetic?

3/8/21 – Notable Woman (with her achievement)

On your ride on International Womens Day – which has been celebrated for over a century – snap a pic of the name or likeness of a notable woman. Just as important, mention at least one of her social, economic, cultural or political achievements (which can be as brief or as detailed as you like).

    Happy hunting!

    “Women Repairing Bicycle”

3/8/21 – Notable Woman (with her achievement)

I struggled with this assignment so I present to you “We come in Peace” a new sculpture at the Hirschhorn Sculpture Garden. The artist is Pakistani-American based in NYC Huma Bhabha. This work was at the Met in NYC before being acquired and moved to DC. It is a reference to that 1951 movie based in DC The Day the Earth Stood Still featuring the great quote “klaatu barada nikto” Women artists have struggled for space, recognition, and praise for centuries. I bring you this piece of art by a woman and of a woman. https://hirshhorn.si.edu/explore/at-home-on-art-and-the-alien-artist-talk-with-huma-bhabha/
